Va. Legislature votes to regulate abortion clinics as hospitals

The Virginia legislature approved a law today that will make the state the first in the nation to regulate abortion clinics as hospitals.

The new rules were added last week to an otherwise uncontroversial bill dealing with infection prevention and disaster preparedness at hospitals and nursing homes, The Roanoke Times reports.

Until now, first-trimester abortions have been treated as medical procedures, like colonoscopies, dental surgery or cosmetic surgery, that can be performed in a doctor's office.

Under the new law, clinics that perform five or more abortions a month will now be subject to strict hospital guidelines in such areas as physical layout, staffing, equipment and food preparation.

2. Agreed - but don't forget the two Dems who voted "aye"

and made this possible.

New thread.  Are abortion rights on the back burner for now?  Walker needs to ram through some in Wisconsin while the DemRats are gone.

Kansas had Tiller who unfortunately was killed before he could continue his late pregnancy abortion on woman actually giving birth to living humans.  I have no sympathy for the man that took his life, he became as bad as Tiller.  Actually worse Tiller was acting within the law and his killer was a cold blooded murderer.

I thought the DUches were all about government regulation and red tape.I would have thought this would have been applauded by them.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I don't understand why this would upset the DUmmies.  They love to proclaim that abortion is a medical procedure and between a woman and her doctor.  Therefore, shouldn't an abortion clinic be run the same way as any other medical facility that performs surgery?

So long as murder is state sanctioned it's okay then, huh? Tiller was worse than the guy who killed him! At least he had moral principals!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

Well, I can sort of see the DUmp postition on this. The purpose of a hospital is the preservation of life. That's not exactly the reason an abortion mill goes into business. Maybe abortion mills should be regulated more along the lines of a Tyson factory, since their customers receive similar treatment.

Strange is it not how some can follow moral principles and then warp them for money or power.

Comes down to survival, a nurse who refuses to be any part of an abortion knows they may be fired if they refuse to do their duty to assist a Doctor in any medical treatment.    The Nurse with a couple kids to support as hubby ran off years ago is now facing a dilemma,  can she put morals over feeding her own children, she knows her children will face the consequences of their mothers moral decision.  Kids get hungry and are not about to understand why. all they know is mommy lost her job so she must have done something wrong.

Doctors get into this for the money, they may start out with high ideals but as they go along the money causes them to convince themselves they are doing a job to help others, they have to believe they are doing not only a job that is legal but helping their patients.

Soon they go so far they like cannot stop but go further on, becoming Monsters that must believe they are doing good. At no time for their sanity can they believe what they are doing is wrong, they have to convince themselves that they are saving the life and future of the mothers.

I believe that any Doctor that gets into this business is some one that has no choice, they may not have hospital priveleges for good reason or may have so many complaints against them that this is the only medical field they can go into.   ----Then there is that there are those that are monsters with a medical degree.

Example--A Doctor in the middle of a turmer removal from a patients brain left for over an hour leaving the patient on the table for an hour,  he had gone to a bank to cash his pay check---Boston General a few years ago.   Unbelievable but true, The Boston papers were outraged but so far he is still today on the staff.

Boggles the mind the number of Doctors and nurses that are willing to take the lives of viabible babys for any reason.   Has to be money, that gets their morals twisted to believe they are doing something good.------Money the root of all EVIL.
