Not me. I ride hot with one in the tube and safety off at all times on my H&K USP .45. Have carried like this my entire career. Seconds count when a bad guy has the drop on you.
That's how I carry my .45 ACP! The most dangerous and worthless thing in the world is an
unloaded weapon! It is what I have taught my kids and my grandkids for 40 years! A weapon is ready to fire every time! How many "accidents" are caused by "unloaded" weapons???????????
Number 1, you have much more respect for the weapon and treat it as such!
Number 2, I've seen and heard too many pawn shop owners, Convenience Store clerks, and Jewelry Store owners hit the trigger and find out durin' duress, they had the Damn safety on, nuthin' in the chamber, and end up pushin' up daisies or mortally wounded because they carry their weapon around as if they are afraid to hurt someone!!! Not a scenario I want to have to deal with, "after the fact"!
**** that!!! If I'm not around, I want "Toots" to know
if she as to pull a trigger, it's goin' to kill the bastard threatenin' her the first time she pulls down!
I could never forgive myself if somethin' happened and my house gun, the .44 just went "click" the first time she needed it for self defense!!!!!!
ETA:
Same goes for my 1909 Double Barrel Parker Bros 12 gauge! It's loaded with double 00 buck, and ready at all times! It's definitely put up where ya have to reach to get it, but when you pull either trigger, by g*d it's gonna cut ya in half if you're in front of it!
