Wesley Chapel, Florida -- An officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission died Tuesday night when he fell from a tree stand, the FWC said.
The incident occurred on private property near Quail Hollow Blvd. and Green Willow Run, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's office, which received the call at 7:08 p.m.
The FWC said 39-year-old Sean Oshea Smith, a father of two young children, was hunting from the tree stand at the time.
Three other people who went hunting with him that day began searching for Smith after he did arrive at a designated meeting spot. A short time later they found his body beneath the tree stand.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office investigated the death.
