Two young men who filmed themselves having sex have been sentenced to death by stoning in Iran.

The film was discovered on the mobile phones of Ayub and Mosleh, 20 and 21 years old, by agents of the Iranian regime in the Kurdistan city of Piranshahr in northwest Iran.

that if some of our delighful, home-grown Fundamentalists (as zealous as any Talibanites) and/or self-appointed "real Americans" could get away with stoning gays (or others: Blacks, Jews, Muslims, Mexicans, Christians of other denominations, etc.) to death right here in the good ol' USA they'd do it in a nanosecond.

FYI my comment was speaking more to the fact that I am personally depressed that as much as we would like to distance ourselves from the uneducated bigotted assholes "over there", there are in fact, probably almost as many "over here".

Is that wrong/incorrect/inaccurate in your estimation?

The proof, DUmmie, is that there were times in our history when we were less "progressive" and even then we had no laws about stoning people to death because they have sex with someone who has the same anatomy. Not even during the Victorian Era when everyone in the whole freaking world was prudish. But you keep on believing that without and reason or rationale. Just because someone finds it violates their personal moral code doesn't mean those same people don't hold "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" with the same regard. Of course there's also the weird desire you guys have on the left to always be the victim, like it automatically makes you better than everyone else. Still, how is it that someone who's supposed do be so damn superior is just one rock away from being stoned to death by a bunch of stupid fundies? I have chicken embryos that are smarter than you.

I just luv how they condemn us, yet would never stand in harms way in order to make their point! I'll have to talk to the Rev at the church I support! I'm not exactly there every Sunday, so I'll try and get him to send me a YouTube of the next stoning so I can share.
