Dead gator causes propane tanker to flip in Florida
« on: April 05, 2008, 06:09:34 PM »
A tractor-trailer toppled Friday morning as the driver veered to avoid what appeared to be debris on southbound U.S. 27 in Northwest Broward.

The real culprit: the remains of a 9- to 10-foot alligator.

The driver, Steven Johnson, 43, of Riverview, suffered only minor cuts and bruises, but the rollover led authorities to shut down both northbound and southbound lanes on U.S. 27 to transfer 9,200 gallons of liquid propane to another tractor-trailer.

Motorists were urged to take Interstate 95, Interstate 75 or Florida's Turnpike as alternate routes until the lanes reopened.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Wait this sounds sort of familiar.

Metaphorically, causing wrecks and stopping traffic. :-)
