A little Bible that the Right Wing needs to "brush up" on.

This is all from the book of James in the New Testament. It is from various chapters and is in the New International Version. Whether you look to the New Testament for guidance or not, you can use these passages to push for progressive ideals, imo.

Pass it along.....

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

I thought the Apostle Paul was a bigot that should not be listened too.

I noticed this, If one of you says to them, Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
That right there is liberalism. You sent healing white light and said the govt needs to help them but, you do nothing to help them.

The Apostle Paul also said somewhere if you want to eat you need to work. Funny how the left ignores that.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I don`t suppose it would do any good to point out that the point of this passage was to show that a person who believed their wealth gave them salvation was in error.
The same would apply to saying that because a person was a certain nationality they were saved for it.

It has nothing to do with civil order but salvation through Christ and that is not a respecter of social status...the poor man had the same Saviour as the rich one does.

Of course the existence of God and His plan of salvation is an enemy of the left so they don`t believe that part and have to bastardize the Scriptures for their own selfish purposes.

To an orthodox democrat, the Bible carries no more weight than The Onion.

I hold no man or woman in either esteem or contempt based on their wealth or lack thereof. Nor do I know any conservatives that do, though to be sure, there are shallow people of all economic strata and political persuasion.

There are many DUmmies though who hate people of means simply because they have more than them, and they're not shy about showing their disdain for "trailer trash" either when the purpose suits them.

There is a vast gulf of difference, DUmmies, in caring for others from the heart and having that "care" demanded from you at gunpoint. Which one do you think Jesus advocates? If you're going to use the Bible as a political weapon, you might try reading all of it.

Even Satan can quote Scripture.

2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, (A dope dealing/welfare cheating DUmmiecrat voter)  and a poor man in filthy old clothes (A hard working republican taxpayer) also comes in.

...and the DUmmies would elect the sharp dressed one president.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Funny how it's the conservatives that pay their taxes and contribute to charity...while the DUmmies live on government handouts and contribute to the violence in Mexico with their drug habits.

:ohsnap:
Great point. If you DUmmies are displeased that there are poor people in America, then get off the dope, get yourself a job, pay taxes and donate to charity, to help those in need.
