I went to that link she posted. I was 9/10. So yes, I can tell the difference without checking under the diaper. 
Also, as the mother of a daughter who tried to give her child non-gender specific toys...let's just say I believe that the Disney corporation snuck in after her birth and implanted a chip in her brain that made her want anything with a princess on it.
For me it was either a princess or a horse. I was a big fan of Princess Anne as as a youngster as she was a princess that rode a horse. I managed to kill two birds with one stone.
