"Yes, we can?" No, it turns out that we can't.
I'm probably the last DUer who would be willing to criticize President Obama, but there you have it.
I weep for my country. My beloved America has devolved even further into the politics of greed than I had thought possible during the Dark Days of the you-know-who regime.
Mr Obama, you were our hope. We thought you to be the last bastion of courage, and you turned out to not be so.
Goodbye, my dream of America.
Perhaps the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive's "dream of America" sounded too much like a nightmare for most other people.

1. Yes we could have if we'd really wanted to
By "we" I mean those with the official power to do anything.
I won't mention any names, I'll just look at 1600 Penn Ave and whistle.

4. Talk to me, and name names, please. I think I know who you're referring to, but I can't keep up completely. There are, yes, some courageous holdouts in the congress / senate, including my fellow Vermonter Bernie.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there he goes again, Chief S itting Bull.
The bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive is originally from New Hampshire, not Vermont.
This is like the Nebraskan franksolich calling Tanker "my fellow Missourian."

8. Glad to hear even the strongest stalwart has realized it is hopeless
Now the question is what to do about it.

12. What to do about it? All I can think of is to vote. That I did, and it seemed to accomplish nothing.
Do you have any words of encouragement? Those would be welcome, indeed.

11. America never dies. It just evolves. Things will change. Ebb and flow and all that.
That is why you'll be back here again and again and again mourning the death of America. A country and culture is a big thing. It doesn't just go away that easily. No matter what Keith may say.
