When you stop and think about it, the wealthy really didn’t uphold their part of the bargain.
   
Reagan wanted “trickle down” economics. He said slashing tax rates will mean the rich will have more money to invest in the country. He slashed tax rates for the richest Americans.

Then Bush said giving the rich tax cuts will give them more money to invest in the country. The GOP passed his tax cuts for the richest Americans.

The richest Americans invested their newfound wealth in jobs…overseas jobs, and our unemployment rate is now at 9.3%

The richest Americans invested their newfound wealth in the economy…the economies of Brazil, Russia, India, and China to name a few.

Why should we continue to give them tax breaks? They didn’t do what was expected of them.

The wealthy didn’t uphold their part of the bargain. What made us think they would?

That's what I find so maddening about the narrative - if extending the tax cuts is supposed to create jobs, why are we at 10% unemployment 9 years into the policy?

They didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Not only shouldn't they continue to be rewarded, they should pay it all back.

Pay it all back? I wasn't aware the govt cut them a check. Silly me I thought we just didn't take as much money from them.

I don't know. Maybe you ask that Bwaney Fwank why there are no jobs and why the economy is so bad? How's that sound?
You DUmmies are so quick to pass judgement without even knowing the facts or what's at stake. It wasn't the Bush tax cuts that got us here.

So did ordinary, everyday, middle class Americans, Dems included, when they invest in publicly traded companies, or in mutual funds.  All these companies are going to invest to maximize profit, and that includes union-avoidance and preferential tax treatment.  That's just financial analysis, it's not Scrooge McDuck counting his gold coins.

Okay now, what was the unemployment rate during the majority of the Bush administration and when he left office? What was Reagan's when he left? And how much has it been since 0bama took office? It's HIS policies in place now. HIS stimulus, HIS crony capitalism, HIS using tax monies to pay off his union buddies, HIS takeover of private industry, HIS increasing the public sector while shrinking the private sector WHO PAY THEIR SALARIES, etc. What have unions done? They've artificially driven up prices, managed to hold businesses and citizens hostage while gaining unsustainable wages and retirement packages for their workers, all to keep them under their little socialist thumbs. Did they hold up their end of the bargain with their workers? They were bargained right out of their jobs. What happens when the private sector shrinks so much they can no longer pay for such a massive government?

Sometimes you have to do more than bitch and hold your hand out. Get the chip off your shoulder and help yourself.
