The wonderful and eloquent Sapphocrat started a thread yesterday pleading with Folks to think about their own homophobia, pleading with folks to be more sensitive to the LGBT community at Democratic Underground. She was met with much derision and as always, the roaches come out of the woodwork, "Prove it. Link. Link! I demand a link. Prove there is homophobia at Democratic Underground."
Well of course she could not, though she did because we are all just liars and drama queens. "THAT'S not homophobia. We're just pointing out hypocrisy." Yeah because all Evil Politicians are gay, right?
Anytime any gay here tries to discuss the homophobia at Democratic Underground we are met with incredulity. "WHAT! HOMOPHOBIA AT DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND!! SHOW ME. PROVE IT." ...and of course we can't, though we do but it's always just swept under with, "THAT'S Not homophobia" because we are ALL a bunch of ****ing liars and drama queens.
The wonderful Sapphocrat is just a liar. HarveyKorman is a liar. Jack Beck is a liar. Buffy the Fundie Slayer is a damned liar and sadly, so is Bluebear and so am I and all the others. The majority of the LGBT community at DU...all damned liars and drama queens. Yup. That's us. I suppose lying is just a Gay Trait, right up there with finding our mates by sticking our feet under bathroom stalls. ...and funny how all the threads started by gays were locked but THERE IS NO HOMOPHOBIA AT DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND.
The straight folks tell us there is NO homophobia so we must be wrong.
...and there's no racism or xenophobia here either. I have shown several of the threads on illegal immigrants to Hispanic friends of mine. They always think I am showing them a rabid Right Wing site. Truly. ...but if you challenge it here, you get, "WE ARE NOT RACISTS OR XENOPHOBES. I just cannot stand how they talk funny, eat migas for breakfast, take all the BEST jobs and rape our more attractive daughters....BUT I AM NOT A DAMNED RACIST. I just don't want to live anywhere near where they might be. Dang, I have two lovely blond daughters and you know how those taco eaters can be but I AM NOT A RACIST." Then a mod jumps in, "quit using that broad brush against DU". Just because we have threads like, "Rap music. I just don't get it" and "I can smell those tacos from here..." THERE IS NO RACISM OR XENOPHOBIA AT DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND. Got it? The white folks say there is no racism so we must be wrong about that. My friends, well, you know how those...THOSE...hot-bloods are. They are drama queens, every one. ...and they all lie.
...and there is absolutely NO...none...nil...nada...sexism or misogyny here. This is a very feminist friendly site. NO sexism. Just because every single thread the absolutely wonderful Katherine Breangle starts on women or that I start on Choice or that Morgana starts on how it's NOT OKAY to call women "bitches" and "whores"...oh wait, Morgana has been tombstoned for challenging some sexist pigs in the Addiction Forum. Hey, guess what, just because you have an addiction, you still don't get to deride women. ...and we have Bone Daddy, calling me an idiot for my thread on Choice. We have OPERATIONIAMSUCHANIDIOTITSHOULDBEACRIME trolling almost every single thread on women, adding his so wise and worldly and open-minded, "women are mean too. Women can be so mean. Women just are mean mean mean people. Bad bad women." We also had some newbie who still hasn't been booted, telling us the Advantages For Women In a Patriarchal Society. ...but hey, there is NO SEXISM OR MISOGYNY AT DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND. NONE. You know women...that time of the month and all, just DRAMA QUEENS AND LIARS. The men have told us that there is NO SEXISM AT DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND. NONE. We are the lying liars.
