Rep. Maxine Waters's trial delayed indefinitely

only one reason to suspend the trial . . . the documents that have suddenly appeared are exculpatory.

this sounds like a cross between dan rather's "fake but accurate" TANG memo and hillary's magical billing records.

Rep. Maxine Waters's trial delayed indefinitely

A day after recommending censure for Rep. Charles Rangel, the House ethics committee announced Friday that it was not ready to hold its trial of Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who was charged with inappropriately helping a bank in which her husband was a large shareholder.

In a vaguely worded statement, the committee announced that there were "materials discovered that may have had an effect" on the initial investigation and the charges filed against Waters. She has said she did nothing wrong in helping the nation's largest minority-owned bank get a meeting with Treasury officials during the financial meltdown of 2008.

The trial panel, formally known as an "adjudicatory subcommittee," has effectively sent the case back to the investigative subcommittee to reopen the probe, rather than going ahead with a trial that was slated to begin Nov. 29.

Or possibly to investigate worse crimes?

I don't think she could be too happy with this. That means the trial will go down under the opposite party's leadership. She must be envying Chucky Rangel's good fortune. Unless it's good news for her of course. I doubt that's the case though.

I doubt that. They're afraid of her....she'll sing...eat cheese...rat 'em all out if they try anything with her. :rotf:

Maybe the new members who haven't done anything wrong yet can do something with her.

Waters accuses Ethics of having weak case after calling off her trial

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) accused the ethics committee of having a weak case that is unraveling after the panel abruptly cancelled her upcoming public trial.

“The committee’s decision to cancel the hearing and put it off indefinitely demonstrates that the committee does not have a strong case and would not be able to prove any violation has occurred,” she said in a lengthy statement Friday reacting to the announcement.

She also said she was disappointed the committee once again postponed the hearing and said it showed “a complete disregard for due process and fairness.”

“For over a year, I have cooperated with the investigation and I have consistently asked for a public hearing on this matter,” she said. “I remain eager to present my case and demonstrate to my constituents and all Americans that I have not violated any House rules.”

good point, although I think the ethics committee is split evenly regardless of which party controls the house.

The committee is evenly split, but the whole house votes on their punishment .

Which is sad, because anyone who knows LA politics knows this hag is as hateful, crooked, and idiotic as they get.  Why the bitch didn't do some SERIOUS time after the Rodney King riots is beyond me.
