So, my boss today admitted that he gets his news

from The Daily Show and from me. Since he's the kind who doesn't keep up with news and politics like DUers do, I was pleased that at least he's watching Jon and not Glenn. I asked him why he didn't watch any of the news cable channels. His answer is that a lot of what was said didn't make sense to him but Jon does. I asked him why he didn't watch Keith, Rachel and now Lawrence on MSNBC. His answer was he didn't want to listen to someone else's opinion, so I guess he's not ready for me to complete my conversion of him into a flaming liberal but he does have a plausible reason. His ex-wife was a Dittohead and worshipped the fat idiot. He hates him so he feels anyone with a slant or opinion is not worth listening to or watching. He realizes what a horrible racist person the Rush is.

However, I wonder how many people like him are out there? They aren't interested that much in politics, so what they do what other people do and take their news verbatim from the news sources, not even questioning that they are being propagandized. Yet, there must be some little bell ringing in their heads that tells them something is not right. So maybe they look for other sources or turn off the news altogether, but then there is Jon that many people it seems are using as their main news source.

So things may not be as dire in the world of media as it seems to be.

All I can say, is go Jon go. You are a light of reason and intelligence out there in a very stupid media world.

I mean come on he gets most of his news from The Daily Show. They must have stopped doing weekend update on Saturday Night Live that way he would have another news source.  :mental:

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

It's election time and things aren't looking good at all for the Dems.  Time for the primitives to break out the "I converted a freeper," "I put a freeper in his place," "From those I talk to, the media is overstating the support of Republicans" encounters.  Expect to see more.

Yep right on cue they perform for us.  :lmao:

I also predict if the dems manage to win that we will hear that the results were still wrong that they really won in a landslide. The GOP just couldn't cheat enough to win.

OMG here's another one it doesn't deserve it's own thread,

What a meeting: Sarah Palin came up . . . For no reason.

Adverserial meeting. Several witnesses, all the parties, each with their attorney.

One of the attorneys stopped, put her glasses down, put down her papers. And without a prompt, or any reason, she blurted out,

"I HATE SARAH PALIN."

Being a nonsequitor, everyone in the conference room stopped, thought for a bit, and then, every single person began to applaud. You betcha, Damned straight, you got that right, ditto, absolutely! were the comments that followed.

Heh. With so many people in the conference room, I was sure that someone would defend her. Instead, everyone was agreeing, with vehemence, in some cases.

Of course, is is the Midwest, Chicago, to be exact. But that many people, so many different backgrounds, and everyone agreeing? Hee hee hee.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

You have to be an idiot to think you get news from The Daily Show.

You have to be an utter moron and blithering idiot to be proud of someone that does.

Yeah, it's funny how even in a professional setting or idle chit-chat always seems to veer towards the topic of Sarah Palin for no reason whatsoever... ::)

I know nothing about legal matters such as this but with a meeting using the term "adversarial" I would assume an attorney from the other side would not have applauded but raised some sort of objection based on the mental state of the opposition.

LOL, I was waiting for someone to post something like that.   Yes, she has been around the block.  I do love her show.  I only watch the comedian round table.   I could do without the GOP shots, but most of the time it is very funny.
