So I just got home from Vegas, I was there last week having a relaxing few days off of work before heading to India (for work).
One of the things I just had to do was go visit the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars) because I'm addicted to the show. It was a real treat to see this place first hand after watching several seasons of the show.
I must say, it wasn't what I expected. It is, honestly, a dive.

But it's a great dive to visit simply because of the celebrity status.

I was hoping to pick up a Rolex if I could get a good deal on a used one, but alas - there wasn't a good deal to be had in the place. While it's divey, it's still pricey. You would think with the massive amount of money they MUST rake in they would invest in some new carpet and some paint for those walls.

I saw several items from the show laying around. Things like the WWII maps were hanging on the wall (not for sale), the mortar they fired in the desert was there... and some other things you would recognize if you are a fan of the show.

They were shooting for one of the up coming episodes too, which was neat to see.

We were lucky to walk right in, usually there is a line. We didn't see any of the "guys" except one, Big Hoss and only for a brief moment as he passed from one door to another. The staff assured us they were all in the back as it was a shooting day, but they were all busy. The Old Man comes out every once in a while for pics, but we didn't want to wait around all day hoping to catch a snapshot.
I'll do it again the next time I'm in town.
