I just spoke with a friend who is voting for McCain. This person doesn't think it matters which party a person is from, just whether or not they like them. And apparently he likes McCain. He actually got quite angry when I suggested that the difference in ideology between the Democratic and Republican parties might matter.

Never mind that the Republicans have been turning this nation into a corporate fascist state since Reagan was elected and are in the final stages of that project. Never mind that McCain want our troops to be in Iraq for 100 years, wants to bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, and doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shia. Never mind what the Repugs have done to our economy. None of that matters. He likes McCain and he has a bad "feeling" about Obama and Clinton.

And don't bother him with facts. When I try to point out some basic facts, he says, "I don't care about that stuff. I don't want to know."

It seems however that nothing better describes the primitives devotion to a candidate then the word "feelings".

 
This, my fellow du'ers is why Republicans get elected. Willful ignorance on the part of the populace.

So you just had to make up your little story to get that taliking point in.
Btw,come over here and talk with some folks that are more than happy to address whatever your "facts" are.

It didn't start out that way. We had Franklin, Jefferson, Washington and later, Lincoln. Today though, Americans are just idiots. Sad but true.
