Something strange happened today--need input
Advertisements [?]I've told you about getting an offer for a new job. I've been training for a week and a half. I didn't get any real "hits" to do it or not, so I was just checking it out--and then today, the boss took me aside and told me that she didn't like my hair and implied I wore dirty clothes and smelled! Now the first I can't do much about (other than shaving it all off and wearing a wig), and the latter two are simply not true. She told me to change these things. I've decided I really can't change my hair, and the words about my appearance really made me feel very uncomfortable, as I had been wearing my best clothes when working there.

I used a pendulum and checked. It said to stay at my present job. But then earlier it had said I'd work for this other person. So I'd appreciate any impressions you have.

5. Dream, I did that very thing
and my landlady was very surprised. She said that the person used to be very interested in outward appearances, but thought she'd gotten over that. I thanked my landlady for getting me the introduction to the job, but said I'd decided to quit--and the landlady agreed because I wouldn't be comfortable.

You know what's really funny, though? When I was in college, these very same criticisms came up--and again when I first started working. They really bothered me then, and I cried and carried on. Not this time. It's like I'm finally comfortable with who I am and I don't need outside validation. And yes, I was starting to get a rather strange vibe from this lady, so I think it is best to go on to other things. And since I had a possible web client literally walk into the office today, I think things are looking up. It's like Karen Bishop said--what we want seems to manifest. And just the other day I was wishing I could have more web clients and simply work from home....

14. Your instincts are correct, Ayesha
Stay away (run, do not walk) from this woman. Something wonderful will happen for you. Just think that phrase every time this horrible "incident" comes to mind.

What I get is that she senses that you are very powerful (as you are) and this is her attempt to control you by insulting you. This is difficult for you to understand as you would never, ever think to do this to another human being, but this is how this woman lives her life. She is to be pitied as she is filled with fear. You actually scare her to death. She is extremely shallow and would become a ridiculously demanding boss. It's so good that you found this out before you took the job permanently. I think your spirit guides are helping you out by bringing this to light and taking extremely good care of you.

Remember that one of the characteristics of the Ascension is that truth comes to light immediately? I think you have seen this in action.

Sending you love, light and blessings,
Bluestar

It might be that she has a psycho boss, or she may go to work looking like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards.  I report you decide.

I've worked with people that have bad hair (unwashed), wore the same clothes every day and, believe it or not, smelled.  Usually of the mooonbat persuasion.  I'm going with the boss on this.

Dixie, it wouldn't surprise me.

We had a programmer where I work that bathed once a month, whether or not he needed to, it seemed.  Decent guy otherwise, as he was one programmer that would go to someone whose application he was working on, and ask them what they wanted the program to do, then tailor the program to the user's needs.  His boss is a guy who writes the program, then tells the user, "Deal with it."  Anyway, if you could get over his constant smell, he was alright.  A week ago last Wednesday, he wasn't feeling well, so he left work early and walked the block-and-a-half to the parking garage to go home.  He never made it, having a massive heart attack on the sidewalk and dying there.  Yes, he had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a bad diet, and was overweight.  56 years old.  No family, no kids.  A shock and a half to us.

Oh my God! That's horrible. You just never know when your time is up.

My maternal grandfather dropped dead of a heart attack suddenly at the age of 57. We were shocked as well. He was healthy (seemingly) active and actually doing some construction work at our church. He fell on the parking lot steps when it happened. I told my mom (this was her dad) that he just walked right up into Heaven from those steps.

Oh geez, ayeshahaqqiqa, it's called soap and you need to use it on your hair and all parts of your body accompanied with water.  Then use some deodorant and a brush.  And if you're a female, shave where you should.

Oh, and toss the pendulum in the trash, freak.

Bromhidrosis

Bromhidrosis is a condition of abnormal or offensive body odor determined to a large extent by apocrine gland secretion, although other sources may play a role. Bromhidrosis may originate from metabolic disorders; ingestion of foods, drugs, or toxic materials; or contact with various xenobiotics. Certain bacterial infections and contaminations also release volatile-smelling compounds.

That's what I'm thinking. If you've been told you stink since college, you need to put down the f'n pendulum and pick up the Zest. It's called society, people, and no one wants to smell your stinky ass. Don't want to change? Move to Paris where it's accepted.

Someone should also tell the DUmmie they also have this neato shit these days called dee-odor-ant. It's used after a bath to extend the fresh smells through the day.

That's exactly what I pictured when I read that. "Natural" hair, "natural" odor (sans deodorant), and "best clothes" that would have been rag-bagged five years ago by anyone else. The fact that these same criticisms have arisen before tells you that this person still isn't getting the message about what kind of hygiene and grooming is acceptable in an office, and consults crystals, pendulums, and astrologers instead.

Me, I prefer the Ouija board. I smack it upside my head a few times whenever I'm tempted to rely on anything except my common sense.

3. Hmmppphh! SHE does not smell right
This is a pretty uptight person. Is she looking for a clone of herself? Does she only approve of people who match her style? You don't need to be a clone.

Perhaps it's some OTHER other person you're going to work for. Or, there is something there that you're not seeing? Is there some value you don't see in working for this woman? Unfinished business? Another lifetime? I don't mean that you should allow yourself to be in a position with someone who has just belittled your appearance.

Is this a front office position? Or does this person need you for a life lesson? I only get answers when I ask questions. There seem to be a lot of questions here.

I think the boss was really looking for someone who doesn't assault everyone else's olfactory senses and doesn't scare away customers.  :hammer:

4. I'm not kidding when I say I've noticed a certain level of neurosis
in people who seem negatively hyper-sensitive to smell. They also seem to really hate the *slightest* hint of normal human smells and use *way* too much aerosol products. It's been a pretty consistent observation that everyone like that who I've met or worked with is a little bit neurotic and high strung. Definitely NOT someone I'd want to work with or around.

Ok people make room for "Dirty Stinking Hippie" number two.  :-)
