Oh my.

The mountain man primitive who, like all men, nightly pitches his tent one day's march nearer the mausoleum:

Original message

The only thing that really scares me about the possibility of a Republican takeover

If the Republicans were to somehow regain control of Government, the Congress, then it would fall to the President to exercise his Veto power to protect the nation. That scares me because I don't think he will restrain them.

1. What scares me is the strong theocratic trend rearing it's ugly head

If the Republicans win and they're beholden and afraid of the teabaggers it won't be long before Islam becomes the first religion outlawed in this country, and Muslims persecuted and rounded up for the crime of imminent terrorism. Being gay will be a crime punishable by death and women and minorities will be expected to know their place or suffer the consequences. I can see Mexicans hanged all along the border as a warning to those illegal aliens to stay away.

It's not like we don't have fine examples of Theocratic rule to easily see what happens under such regimes.

2. And we all know that the republicans are constantly reminding everyone about the Islam extremist. Well what in the devil is the difference between those of Islam extremists and the religious nuts in the republican party in this country. The republicans start wars, but they haven't gone out and started killing those who oppose them YET. But if the are in charge they will urge those radicals in their party to take their SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS to those who disagree. They are doing enough of the urging now.

3. I think we would see a civil war if the "real" GOP and the democratic president tried to restrain the extreme "religious" right...they have been talking about it and actually preparing for it for years, and although many on the left mock them, they are serious and they are mentally ready, they are armed and in some cases already training.

4. Mentally ready?..I'm sure they have firearms and some were in the military too...

But aside from the copmbat veteran miltary in their ranks....how many have killed before?? Not alot of drive-by killings in the suburbs these days...whenever I think of an armed insurrection by these folks...I always consider actual experience in killing....killing is the issue here is it not?....what segment of that population kills on a daily basis....? Killing is very different than stockpiling ammo. What about their plan? Is it to march into Urban areas, the inner cities, and just start shooting??

"Mentally ready" - does that mean in their minds?

+1000!!

The Fundy Freaks here in my part of the country (Eastern Ks-Western Mo.) are actually hoping it comes down to a firefight, and they are armed to the teeth.

I know that some liberals are armed also...but nothing like the Teagaggers,Trust and Believe, these crazys are out for blood and are just wating for what they think is the right reason.

The thought of these folk starting an armed insurrection scares the crap outta me.

6. I think we would see the same approach from Obama. He would try to "work with" the GOP and probably avoid the veto except for a token minor issue or two late in 2012.

The real-life consequences to most people would not be much different than in the first two years of his administration.

At least, we would not get bullshit foisted off as reform.

Damning the inner cities with gentle praising. All them inner city folks are just natural born killers, I s'pose.

Of course country folk hunt, so I s'pose if you trussed up gang-bangers in moose antlers the Palinistas should manage just fine. I wouldn't mind seeing some rapper field dressed and hanging from the lamp post outside the local Jack-in-the-Box.

Just out of curiosity, when did baggy pants hanging around your mid-thigh and heavy gold chains flopping in front of your face become conducive to urban combat operations?

I routinely bring deer and pig down at 3-400 yards.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I suppose it is pointless to mention that those are the real life things that already happen in muslim countries.

They seem to have this obsession with this whole rounding up business. And just when has ANY of these things happened during a Republican majority. The tea parties are not all about social issues. I've yet to see ONE sign that says "women back to the kitchen", "death to gays" (well except for Fred Phelps who's a democrat and protests at MILITARY funerals), or "round up all Muslims". There are plenty of signs against the creeping socialism and demanding more fiscal responsibility. But why let facts stand in the way of a good old fashioned hysterical rant.

Yes, but those are muslims doing it so it's expected.

I think the biggest fear they have is, having to work and earn a living.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
