I didn't pay much attention to the DU forum here until I started following Pam and recognized the DU misfits for the case studies that they are.    Now she is gone.  Shame, as she was quite the soap opera.

or who likes/dislikes whom. I do know that Lefty was really nice to me when I first joined (as were a couple other people) it's hard being the new kid on the block, he helped make it easier. I'm sorry to see him go.

I can tell there are tensions here in the lounge and other areas, I just don't know all the details. Don't know that I want to either, I finished high school many moons ago.

That being said, I do think it's really sad that he's gone now and there are people that post on this site, that also post on a conservative site that has an entire forum dedicated to trashing DU and it's members. They take great pleasure in finding out and posting real identities and personal info. These people trash DU folks, and give up things they might have found out while under the guise of being a friend. Maybe this has something to do with the different cliques; maybe there's a "mission" to split DU. I don't know. It's just bizarre to me.

Anyway, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks for the opportunity Skinner.

the forced ignores are still intact and will be forever, I think. :shrug:

They are kind of useless at this point because everyone knows that you can hit the printer-friendly icon and read the whole page. Also, one can open another browser and read DU without logging in and see threads that the forced ignores have started. So really the only thing it forces is a non-direct response between the two "forced ignore groups" I think this action may have actually escalated all of this, which was not the intended purpose of the mods and admin when they enacted it but...it is the result anyway.

After all, anything to poke the hornets nest!!!!!!!!
