A couple of things from the articles she posted caught my eye:
Coburn quoted a book, “The Tragedy of American Compassion,†which he said “talks about how we used to care for everyone who needs our help.†Now everyone relies on the government, he said.
She might ask herself WHY that is. She should also note that CONSERVATIVES give more in charitable donations than the left (even the uber-rich left who I bet give more to their pet political power groups than compassionate causes).
MANY have offered Bobbo REAL help. Everything from money to some kind of advocacy to very sound advice. Many have asked for more information (it's hard for anyone to know how to help unless they know the reasons SSDI was terminated) so they can know better how to help. These ALWAYS turn into angry tirades of Bobbo being insulted. One can only come to the conclusion she doesn't really want help, she wants to wallow in her misery while her fellow DU'er pat her on the back and tell her what a brave little victim she is.
Useless Eaters: the Stigmatization of Health Problems
As a psychiatrist battling the stigma of mental illness for more than 30 years, I am gratified by growing public awareness that that schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorder run in families and are, at least partly, biologically determined. Thankfully the days when it was socially acceptable to blame depressives for being lazy or not doing enough to help themselves are long gone.
Only if you let it be, but obviously I just don't have the same problem as DUmmies because I've never been stigmatized, either. It's a problem to be dealt with. Some people have high blood pressure, or hypothyroidism, or an auto-immune disease. I happen to have bipolar disorder. We all just take our meds and get on with our lives. But, hey, if I ever start to feel victimized or neglected I promise to start ranting and raving and calling y'all meanies in a thread on "Cryin' in my Beer".
