  • "For God & Country: Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo"
Yesterday, over at Politico, Ben Smith reported something very interesting. If it had been about a shift in messaging from a Republican White House, it would be the talk of the three broadcast networks news programs while CNN ran panel discussions on how this was a sign of an Administration in disarray.  Instead, right now, it’s only getting some notice on (mostly) right-of-center web-sites.

Quote
Key White House allies are dramatically shifting their attempts to defend health care legislation, abandoning claims that it will reduce costs and deficit and instead stressing a promise to “improve it.”

The messaging shift was circulated this afternoon on a conference call and PowerPoint presentation organized by Families USA — one of the central groups in the push for the initial legislation. The call was led by a staffer for the Herndon Alliance, which includes leading labor groups and other health care allies. It was based on polling from three top Democratic pollsters: John Anzalone, Celinda Lake and Stan Greenberg.

Emphasis added. Every American represented by a Democrat who voted for this legislation should ask his Representative or Senator about the White House change of tone.  They might report that individuals who pay for their own health insurance have seen premiums skyrocket while large companies will get hit with a 9% increase in health care costs.

David Freddoso calls this "Abject panic at the White House." Allahpundit seems to agree:

Quote
But even so, the fact that they’re now so far in retreat that they’re willing to make rhetorical concessions even on their idiotic core plank about bending the cost curve shows just how worried they are that the GOP (a) will be making big, big gains in November and (b) might just have the public support needed to get a serious pro-repeal movement going among the electorate. This is pure defense.

Watch for the number of Americans favoring repeal to climb above 60% as stay there — as they see their healthcare bills rise and notice how the Democrats change their tone on the “cost curve.”

I saw something to this effect this morning on Fox & Friends.  It's interesting, isn't it?

They know their asses (yes, punny) are going to be kicked this November.  My fervent hope is that enough of the defeated Dims--and the ones that barely escaped being defeated--don't decide to go on a huge spree in the lame-duck session.  There is precedent for that; waaaaay back at the beginning of the 19th Century, when the Federalists tried to hamstring the incoming President (Jefferson).  Their party ceased to exist in the next few years, as American voters (yes, even then) punished them severely at the polls, and they faded from the political landscape.

Well now, looks like Joe Wilson was right, "You lie!"

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

How does this all tie in with CBO sign offs and the reconciliation process if it all was (as we knew) a scam?

Neighbor, remember the attitude of the DUmors--if it helps Obama and brings socialism, it's all good. :censored:

PS--the Gibson For Congress campaign office in CP is about a mile from where I live.  I may have to go in there and volunteer at some point.

It's not a tax and healthcare costs will be lowered. It is a tax and HC costs are going through the roof.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Once we get into the fall I have offered to do the same.

Very true Johnny! :cheersmate:
If Lord Zero is lying, (which most of here can agree), then Senator Wilson is a great man for calling the communist out on national TV and letting the world know that he is a liar! I commend him for that! :hi5: :cheersmate:
