Bargain Ribeyes
« on: August 19, 2010, 10:23:25 PM »
One of our grocery stores, Cub Foods had ribeyes for $4.99/lb this week.  That's by far the lowest price I've seen in any stores around here. We bought 6 earlier this week so we knew they were good quality and bought another 12 today. Might see about buying some more tomorrow.  Just need some more charcoal, now. :)

I haven't seen ribeyes that cheap, but I can get eye of chuck for that price.  Good stuff.

I may have to make a trip to Dallas area. Cheapest I can find lamb for around here is $10/lb..... I've always hated Texomaland for that.

Ribeyes at Hannaford's are $8.49/lb, but I did get $2 off coupons on the 4 I bought because they were out there a while...use or freeze right away kinda deal.

Lobsters, OTOH, are $4.50/lb.

Your choice.

Thor, I just checked, and you can get it in McKinney for that price, right off of 380, so you don't have to go too far into suburban hell.  5.49 lb for boneless, 4.99 for semi boneless.

Apparently you haven't been to McKinney in a while........ 380 is a disaster area with all of the construction. That's where my bank is. 121 is even worse.

Uh, nope.  I cannot tolerate driving north on 45.  I don't go past Parker if I can help it.  There's one in Gainesville?

Gainesville is worse than Sherman/ Denison. Besides, it's NOT "I-45" after one gets into Dallas. It turns into state hwy 75..........  Beats me as to why that is, must have been some dumbass Yankee in charge when they made that change.  :fuelfire:

121 sucks ass. Just got back from dinner in Frisco with the gf. 380 isn't too bad, at least the parts I drive (between 35 and DNT). I hate the PGBT as you know from Facebook. Unfortunately I have to drive 121 or PGBT at least once a week.  :banghead:

Good thing most things are kosher anyways. I'd hate to have to drive to Richardson to do my grocery shopping.

Our Albertson's has prices like that around holiday weekends. The meat is always really good.
