MineralMan (1000+ posts) Mon Jul-26-10 10:35 AMOriginal message On Posting OPs Which May Be Unpopular or Controversial Please don't let factional disputes keep you from creating original posts on DU. If you have something to say, just go ahead and say it. Your OP may attract both recommendations and unrecommendations and your OP may get negative replies, as well as positive replies. That's the nature of politics, and any ugly negative replies should simply be shrugged off. It's your opinion, and nobody should ever be afraid to hold or express an opinion here. The more original posts we see on DU, the more we see how people are really thinking about our political situation.Don't let anything stand in your way of posting your opinion, whatever it is. That's what DU is here for. The more opinions we see, the better. Disclaimer: Of course, this doesn't apply to those seeking to promote right-wing ideology. It is, after all, Democratic Underground.

Edited on Mon Jul-26-10 01:05 PM by MineralManI said nothing about what kind of posts people should make, nor did I suggest which people should post. It's a general call for OPs. Please read it again. Many people hesitate to post because they don't want to be maligned for doing so. Many people with many different points of view.
