While I agree with much of what you have said the $kammer will never let go of DU. DU represents power over others, a LIBERAL wet dream. The only reason he would let go is if DU were replaced by something that allowed him more power over the "little people"... Besides, DU is a money maker for the $kammer and his buddies.

I dunno; I wonder.

I know I'm in a minority opinion, but I have what I think are good reasons for being skeptical that my fellow alum Skins is making much money off of Skins's island.

Skins's island is a pain to operate, what with the primitives being so, uh, primitivish.

I think that what happened when Skins's island was first formed, my fellow alum took the job of running it as "taking one for the team," the regular Democrats and regular liberals, in hopes of later rewards, such as a cushy federal government job.  Skins after all is a good party man.

If the second condition, as Muddyemms calls it, happens, and Messalina Agrippina is--God forbid--elected, the primitives are going to become extinct anyway.

I have no doubt Messalina Agrippina, like her namesakes from ancient Rome, would be promiscuously profligate with applying the lash.

There's a reason the saying "Revolutions devour their own" exists.

The saying exists because it's true.  And it's been true 100% of the time, since the dawn of mankind.

Well, we here on this side got nothing to fear from Messalina Agrippina, mostly because we here on this side did nothing to prevent her from getting the Democrat nomination; she's going to leave us alone.

However, those Democrats, liberals, and primitives who obstructed her route to the nomination--or even just mildly balked it it--have lots and lots to fear.

I have no doubt Messalina Agrippina would apply the lash, vigorously.

Now, the primitives are pretty much insignificant, meaningless, in politics.....or in real life.

But Messalina Agrippina's a good detail-man; she doesn't miss anything, not the smallest thing.

As soon as she's dealt with important foes, she'll turn to the primitives.  Probably right now someone on her staff is monitoring the primaries forum on Skins's island, making a list of Obamanation names.

If I were the Vermontese twins, for example--the cali primitive and the solar bust primitive (garybeck)--I'd be making plans to high-tail it north from Vermont, so far north that Vermont in January would seem as warm as Miami in August, because the reach of Messalina Agrippina's long.

I remember back in 2000 a liberal friend of mine told me Republicans were making a mistake by rejecting McCain because McCain was someone he could vote for.

To which I said, "So, we should nominate someone who people we disagree with could vote for?  Do you realize that makes no sense."

But now that McCain is the nominee, I don't see a whole lot of support from liberals and democratics.

I do tend to believe what Rush said this morning, that whoever wins on the Democrat side, the supporters of the other candidate will either stay home or vote for McCain, but McCain seems like he could do stuff to lose that and send them scurrying back.

I think that scenario plays out best if Hillary and Obama are still duking it out all the way to the convention.

I think right now, at this moment, it is McCain's to lose and I think he is perfectly capable of losing it but the Democrats are making that hard.  But that is just right now, in this moment.  Because things change.  Things always change.

Maybe those who can't support whoever the nominee is will break off and form and even funnier site?
