Only time I have seen it is when one of these super quiet fans stops because the user never cleaned the crud outa her box!

I know, I know, thats what she said!

I know that some AMD platform motherboards didn't have a BIOS feature that would shutdown the processor. I'm not 100% certain, but I THINK my old Abit KT7A- RAID board didn't have that feature. I'll have to look when I reboot next time for this KG7 board

I've seen that a few times.  You'd be surprised (or maybe not) to see what heavy smoking does to electronic equipment.  Nasty stuff.

I run the 1400 MHz AMD Athlon in two computers. This video explores the differences between the Intels and the AMDs

They have it, but you can set temp in BIOS on a lot of mothers. Set it too high when you're tweakin' and you can fry the chip.
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

Alienware users are similar to Apple users..... brainwashed into spending megabucks on an OK system..... :stirpot:

Why spend 2 to 3 times as much for the same system one can build ?? I've looked at the specs of the Alienware PCs. I've built systems every bit as good, if not better, for far less.
