"It's too much. It's kind of a slap in the face, it's not the way to handle it...Nobody but the Nazis ever asked anybody for their papers," MacFarlane told Reuters Television in an interview on Thursday.

"Walking down the street, a cop can come up to you and say 'May I see your papers?' -- I think they should be required to ask that question in German if the law sticks around," he added.

The people claiming this law will allow this are probably the same people who think health care will reduce costs and make premiums lower. Reading must not be their strong suit.

...yeah, we've been sliding towards a fascist state for a long time now.

Don't you mean a Nazi state? I would think you intelligent people at DU would know that fascism was in italy and Nazism was in Germany.

But, you are right we are approaching a fascist state since Jan 22 of 2009.

This must mean Obama is a Nazi since the Arizona law is modeled on the federal law.

So where are they locating the death camps, gas chambers, and ovens? My brother owns some property near Flagstaff he would like to unload. He has a couple of buildings too that would be well suited to store hair, teeth, and glasses.

I defy ANYONE of ANY color to say to a cop, when he asks for your license and registration, to say, "Hell, NO! I'm not showing you my papers, you racist republican nazi pig!!" or some words to that effect....

Really, Seth. I hope you don't speed in Sheriff Joe's jurisdiction...

The stupid leading the clueless.

I weep for our country.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Can someone PLEASE point out in the immigration bill that says you HAVE to carry your birth certificate around with you 24/7?

Seth MacFarlane is douche bag.  Family Guy is funny, but the Sarah Palin jabs are getting quite annoying and so is his "political" opinions.

The only time I had to show my birth certificate in the state of Arizona was when I was getting my driver's license.  I also had to show it in Nevada.  Guess I'll boycott both states and riot on Las Vegas Blvd.

I kept waiting for it to make me laugh.  It was a waste of an hour.

Well, Rush likes him, as well as most of the cast and crew of Family Guy. That's nothing new. I would submit that most of us, myself included, would put Elton John in this level of leftist category, and look what happened.

That said, as a rule conservatives can get along individually with leftist Hollywood types than the socialists get along with conservative types, but that's really a no-brainer. Rightists think, Leftists feel; so in general it's easier to deal on a one-to-one basis in this regard.

Matt Groening claimed back before Futurama debuted that if it had half the success of the Simpsons he was going to build a theme park. I've always rooted for him since then because I think he could build a great one.  :-)
