The Laker championship brought out the worst elements in some people. Here is raw footage of a video released by the LAPD to see if anyone can recognize any of these worthless pieces of human garbage:

If anyone kills one of these scumbuckets of shit and I'm on the jury, I will hang it faster than a cat being chased by three Dobermans. (Well, maybe not, but I would be highly sympathetic to the taxi owner more than the idiots here). I am trying to verify as well the fact the cab owner will not be compensated through insurance for this loss as well, which is common in situations like this.

City's with these big play offs need to direct the crowds interest on something non violent after a game, say a parade down the street with both teams on flat beds.

Local marching bands from area schools and colleges. Lots of music and dancing in the street. 

 It is dark out so bring in the local nudists to march in the buff, the Gay pride groups the local Buddhists to chant and bang gongs, what is more fun then to watch belly dancers shimmy down the street, or spend time writing on the hood of a Taxi and burning it all up.

Crowd control is all about distractions, from what I got from the film there may have been 35 people at most rioting and hundreds of others looking on or for a way to get out of the area.  The people dispersed right smartly when the cops with sirens yelping showed up.   Distraction there, the streets were almost empty when the cops came in in force.

Short of the LAPD putting out a city-wide tactical alert (think Rodney King riots), you're never going to put a serious dent in these situations.  They saw cops, they moved somewhere they DIDN'T see cops.

Then again, CA is a "may-issue" state, which is to say they don't give ANYONE a CCW permit for shit.  The OC Sheriff wants to pull about 80 percent of the CCW permits, claiming that Sheriff Carona just gave them out as "favors".  Problem is, that'll leave about 300 people in Orange County with legal CCW permits.

In a county of over 3 MILLION.  LA County has a population of over 10 million, and Sheriff Baca has issued 400.  That's right.  400 people in a county of 10 million, or 0.004 percent.

Which all leads me to the words of Heinlein: "An armed society is a polite society.  Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life."
