It is well past time to outlaw public unions.  Unions in general had a place in history but not public unions.  They are little more than Mafia families exploiting payola from town councils across America.   :shame:

Christie is on the right track but we need more like him.  Where is the public outrage?  Old Joe Hill needs a hot round up the rump, the myth of the "good intentions and works" of public unions need to be exploded once and for all. They need to be shown up as the greedy weasles they are.  Collective bargaining is a farce rather like putting a 90 year old in an ultimate wrestling match with a 20 year old the union negotiator holds all the cards ( with thanks to FDR ).

Freedom of association demands we allow unions to exist but there is nothing that says they can't be held to the same anti-trust, RICO and other applicable laws.

And union membership must be strictly voluntary. None of this paying to stay out of a union. 85%?!?!  That's not freedom, that's legalized extortion.

I loved it when the air traffic controllers went on strike despite a law that said they could not do that.  Reagan fired them all!

I would amend my comments to say those who work for gov't agencies cannot unionize or strike.

Government cannot dictate to the people be they senators or simple bureaucrats. To allow gov't functionaries to withhold government services from the very citizenry that grants them their charter is tyranny in the making; witness: Greece.

The government should also not be spending revenue for non-government purposes or on non-government activities. No more funding for Planned Parenthood, ACORN, PBS no more corporate welfare or any welfare. Let the states do welfare if they want to.
