Japanese Sankei News at about 8 a.m. Eastern Thursday.

States things are getting hot. Along the DMZ between the two, in the Yellow (West) Sea with South Korean Navy on anti-North Submarine training, propaganda loudspeakers being set up by South Korea facing the North which are now threatened to be blown away by North Korean artillery, and in fact North Korean artillery being moved into the DMZ near Chorlwon, in violation of Armistace. Articles goes on and on, but uses fairly strong language to describe the escalation on both sides.

North Korea started this by sinking the South Korean corvette "Cheonan" in the West Sea several months ago, and is intent on bolstering its innocence in the incident, in addition to threatening conflict on the South for such an insinuation.

This sounds hugh and series.

Frak

Colorado has 19th SFG and Korea is part of their AO.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

They have now said they are canceling every agreement and accord they ever made with the South and China has sent an "emergency" envoy to Pyongyang.

China does not approve of what NK is doing.

excerpt

In a sharp escalation of tensions with South Korea, North Korea says it is discarding military procedures the two sides have agreed to follow for years to ensure a conflict does not get out of hand.

The general staff of the North Korean People's Army issued a notice Thursday dismantling a wide range of security guarantees it has observed for years.

Pyongyang says it will completely nullify a bilateral agreement with the South that was put in place to prevent clashes in waters west of the Korean peninsula.  That is the maritime region where North Korea has disputed a sea border for decades and where an international team of investigators concluded a North Korean submarine sank a South Korean patrol ship in March, killing 46 sailors.

The North says it will stop using maritime shortwave radio frequencies with the South and cut off other means of emergency communication.

That warning came as South Korea's navy conducted anti-submarine warfare drills off its west coast.  South Korea and the United States have announced they will conduct a joint anti-submarine exercise, widely expected to take place within a matter of weeks.

The North Korean military notice, carried on state-run media, also said South Korean ships and aircraft will no longer be allowed passage through the North's territorial space. Pyongyang says it may also prevent access into or out of a joint industrial complex in the North Korean city, Kaesong, potentially trapping hundreds of South Korean business managers there

I think they already had Arty there on the Norths side they are just being open about it. I know we had some of our own to call on when we did patrols inside the DMZ that were close enough to take out anything the crossed the border.

The UN now accuses NK of nuclear proliferation?

China seems to be distancing itself from the NorKs.

Does the Kim want to go out in a blaze of glory?

Or just grab enough South Koreans to cause a hostage situation and then declare victory for internal consumption?

Seoul has thousands of artillery cannons pointed at the city. It is one of the largest city in the world with 11 million people and 25 million in the metropolitan area. If North Korea was to attack, it would be one of the worst wars in recent history.

This kind of puts China between a rock and a hard place.   It is up to them to calm things down.    In the past they have sided with NK but now is another day.

At this point China is riding high, major dams are being built, their factory's are going 24/7.     They have become so wealthy they lend US money.

Who knows what NK thinks it is doing, China is concerned enough to send envoys on an emergency basis.

It is said that the NK leaders are insane--what ever that means.  Are they insane enough to disregard any advice from China, will they throw in their lot with the Middle East.

The one thing a country does not do is to cause a country that owes them oodles of money to allow anyone to cripple their ability to repay them.

Interesting history to be made here.
