Officials at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut say the man suspected of parking a car bomb in Times Square earned computer and business degrees there.

School officials say Faisal Shahzad (FY'-sul shah-ZAHD') graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer applications and information systems in 2000 and later returned to earn a master's of business administration in 2005.

University of Bridgeport is an independent, non-sectarian university located on Long Island Sound in the South Bridgeport section of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. The school is the tenth-most racially diverse university in the country.

The university had financial troubles in the 1990s and was the subject of controversy when the trustees were obligated to enter into serious negotiations with and subsequently gave control of the institution to the Professors World Peace Academy (PWPA), an affiliate of Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church in order to save it from closure. Since then, in an effort to boost enrollment numbers, the University of Bridgeport has attempted to recruit more international students.


(P.S. Growing up in Bridgeport, I never heard the area called anything but the "South End".)

Okay, and if he'd gone to UC-Bezerkley, you'd be harping on that too?  Or any other of our overliberalized campuses across our great land?

Memo to DUmmies--even at supposedly "conservative" schools (and I was considered to have attended one for a time at Georgia Tech), there are still plenty of moonbats in the student body and on the faculty.

That entire meme started because the BFEE purchased a ranch in Paraguay or some such place next to a Moonie owned ranch.

Apparently it is also located near a water reclamation plant and the CT was they wanted to take control of all fresh water resources in some odd plot akin to a James Bond movie.

Wonkette's website first put it out. Then time.com hired her to cover DC.
