Just got a letter from the IRS...
   
...I was thinking, Oh shit. Open it, and they say I made a mistake on my taxes...I will be getting $400 more back! Woo-hoo!

Better be careful DUmmy in the early 90's I got a check from the IRS for $60 out of the blue. 3 months later I got a letter saying I owed $60.

A lot of those letters went out. It's the "Make Work Pay" credit that you had to file a schedule M to get. Most people never heard of it. More Obama stash money.

I used H&R Block.  It was free and it prepared the Schedule M for me. :II:

Perhaps in your case, but this is one of those refundable credits where you can take it even if you didn't pay in. So in the DUmmy's case... yeah... you guessed it. Free money.

Making work pay?  Only if you're flipping burgers.  If you're actually making anything above minimum wage, that money isn't "yours".

:thatsright:  I had forgotten that it was based on AGI, and tapered off as income went up.
