Recalling ’95 OKC Bombing, Clinton Sees Parallels
« on: April 16, 2010, 08:28:20 PM »
Quote
WASHINGTON — With the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing approaching, former President Bill Clinton  on Thursday drew parallels between the antigovernment tone that preceded that devastating attack and the political tumult of today, saying government critics must be mindful that angry words can stir violent actions.

The former president said the potential for stirring a violent response might be even greater now with the reach of the Internet and other common ways of communication that did not exist on April 19, 1995, when the building was struck.

Mr. Clinton pointed to remarks like those made Thursday by Representative Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota Republican, who when speaking at a Tea Party rally in Washington characterized the Obama administration and Democratic Congress as “the gangster government.”

“They are not gangsters,” Mr. Clinton said. “They were elected. They are not doing anything they were not elected to do.”

Hi,

Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that they are preying for another OKC type bombing so they can blame it on the Tea Partiers?  They could care less if millions of american lives are lost as long as it fulfills their political agenda.

They had no problem with CIA leaks to the New York Times during the Bush administration as long as it helped thier agenda......could care less if it endangered our man and women in uniform.

Sounds to me like Clinton is basically giving some nitwit permission to do something stupid.

I remember posting a list of deadliest terrorist attacks and presidential assassinations, including attempted ones and nearly all of them were tied to the radical left.

While I agree with you that I don't think the left is "hoping" for another attack per se, but don't think for one second that if one DOES in fact occur they won't take it and milk it for all they can get.

Hell, they're taking non-existent racial comments and still beating that dead horsie.

Did Clinton have problems with the "parallels" of the anti-war left calling for the death of Bush and burning down the white house?

Professional politicians must really thing we're stooooopid   :mental:

Hi,

I disagree with you.  Clinton was pissed off because he wanted a war so he could make a name for himself.  He finally decided to invate Haiti and were it not for Powell, Carter and Sam Nunn we would have done just that.

If the libs can do all they can to sabotage our war efforts in Iraq during the Bush administration, do not ever underestimate their priorities.  They ignored the bulk of the American people and voted in the health care bill.  Nothing, and no one is more important to them than their political agenda.  They want control forever and don't much care what gets in their way or what the cost would be to achieve that goal.

As Sol Alinsky wrote, basically the end justifies the means, whatever means that happens to be.

Hi,

If you were being scarcastic, it went over my head, sorry.

I have lived in this country for many generations and it is quite a shock to my system to realize that we have some members in government that want bad things to happen to our citizens and soldiers to further their political agenda.

We all know BO is weakening our defense but I do not know one person who hopes a nuke goes off in the US just to prove him wrong.  My nephew said it best when he remarked, "They just think differently than we do!"

I guess so,

They are hoping for some kind of bombing or something that they can point to and say "See we told you they are terrorists". For 8 years these goons counted dead soldiers, marines, etc just so they could bash Bush.

They can not debate the tea party that is why they cry Racism and that we are violent. Can you imagine the victory they would get if something were to happen? They could totally shut down talk radio and Fox news given an excuse big enough. This may sound like major tinfoil but, I do not put it past them (the left) to set off a bomb or something in order to get the ball rolling.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
