I'm avoiding "General Discussion" on Skins's island today, as it wounds the brain to see the primitives yimmer-yammering, jibber-jabbering, about things of which they know not.

1. I voted powder but I buy a laundry soap made from goats milk from one of our coop producers. It's awesome and last forever because it only takes a little bit.

Oh my.

Laundry detergent made from goat's milk.

One suspects the defrocked warped primitive, who's "allergic" to things good for her, and surprisingly not allergic to things bad for her, avoids laundry detergent made from goat's milk.

what are the ingredients, do you know?

I'm a powder advocate too - why pay for shipping water? I do object to the fillers in most commercial stuff, though (a few ounces worth of detergent but 5 or 6 to puff it up so you use a whole cup - why?) - about ready to try homemade, but a bit lazy.

Of course my dream is a Staber washer!

2. Liquid..

Only because the powder often doesn't dissolve all the way in a cold water wash.

franksolich uses Tide powder detergent, because his late mother used Tide powder detergent, and his late mother knew what worked, and what didn't work.

It's all a waste. Bobbolink has proven that clothes can be worn 24 hours a day for years without washing.

Googled it and found a "recipe"

I was right,it contains lye and also borax.
Not much different then commercial detergents just using different substrates.

I am sure the DUmmy thinks they are using something special..it is just different.

I don't know but my sister makes goats milk bar soap that's to die for! Makes your skin really soft.

My concern was that they might over-suds. I googled it and you can use them in HE washers.

The primitive should try dish detergent in the laundry - If it can de-grease a dish, it will certainly work for clothes -- and if she get one of the concentrated dish detergents, all thats needed is half a cup to do the trick ! try it ! Everything will get clean in the process - EVERYTHING !     :-)

Not only that, but the DUmmy can put his silverware and dishes right into the washer with the clothes, and clean everything at once! A single portion of detergent and hot water is the green way to clean. Sweet for the planet! Gaia will smile!
