Several years ago, I had a brand new 1998 Grand Cherokee Ltd. Backed out of the garage into M's brand new Cadillac - not the boat one, but kind of a sporty 2 door.
I wasn't used to the Jeep, it was a side entry garage with a slight slope to it. He had been parking his car in the same spot for 4 YEARS. I had just kissed him goodbye and went out to the garage to go to the grocery. I did look in the rear view mirror....but his car was just low enough that I couldn't see it.
My garage was a bitch to back out of because of the orientation of the drive, garage, and the steep slope on the far edge of the drive. (I had Douglas firs planted along the edge so I knew where the edge was because my depth perception sucks

) I always backed out of the garage very slowly.
What I did to that Cadillac was so not pretty.....not only did I MOVE the rear end....I totally trashed the rear quarter panel.

There was absolutely no damage to the Jeep.
I went into the house just sobbing.....and my wonderful sweet of heart was only concerned about whether or not I was hurt. He said it was only a car and easy to fix.
Back in the days with the ex....I came home with a dime size dent in the BMW where apparently a grocery cart had hit it....he was livid. I didn't even know it until he went ballistic....
