So I was doing some verbal sparring with a coworker tonight. He is from India and admits to hating the Pockistanis. He's also a democrat...(not SO much a liberal).
We hit on a few different points. First of all, he agrees with Noblama about withdrawing and said it's not the US's place to fix everything. He agrees with no US intervention and says it's a mistake to be in the Middle East. He says we have a double standard and how we should be at war with the Saudi's since they produced most of the 9/11 hijackers.
When I asked him if he agreed with the US intervention of WW2 and liberating the Jews he was silent.
When I asked him if he agreed with the US intervention of Bosnia, he was silent.
When I asked him if the agreed with the US intervention of the Iraqi's to include the removal of the rape rooms, he said "well, american soldiers are raping the iraqi women now, just as they did in Vietnam", I was silent and
, in which I responded with we lost many american lives liberating them.
Then on to the mortgage crisis and he said it was the Federal Reserve's fault and never heard of CRA.
I can debate most of his points with one exception.....the Saudi argument...he says it's about money. when he tried to say we were in Afghanistan because of money, I said the US has no interest in selling Opium...he became quiet...but what's my response to the Saudi argument?
