Well warmongers, it looks like Obama is going to get your war on
   
In a preview of his speech tomorrow night, information is leaking out of the White House stating that there is definitely going to be a serious troop increase. Apparently we're also going to continue cozying up to Pakistan in order to try and control the border region while also training enough Afghan troops to, theoretically take over for us at some vague point in the future.

Yes, there is Obama's commitment that this isn't going to be an open ended war, and also that this escalation comes with some sort of exit plan. But the fact of the matter is that we're going to be pouring more money, more resources and more troops into a rathole for the the foreseeable future.

Apparently we have yet to learn from our mistakes of the past. Here we are, once again, propping up a corrupt foreign politician while trying to rebuild a nation. Has that ever succeeded? What makes you think it will this time. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting a different result every time. By that standard, we're a very, very sick country.

So, you political wonks out there are still expecting the left, the anti-war folks to back your play in 2010 and 2012. Sorry, but I see that as increasingly unlikely. I myself will vote for those candidates who don't support this illegal, immoral war, no matter what party they're in. And if that means no vote for Obama, oh well. Many, many people refused to vote for the folks in Congress, not to mention the President, who supported the Iraq invasion, what makes you think that we won't do the same when it comes to Afghanistan?

And no, this is not a "good war". It is another war for empire and petroleum, with heroin thrown into the mix. There is no point in fighting this war, at least no point for those who aren't part of the MIC. This isn't about getting Osama bin Laden, he's long dead, and besides, if we were truly serious about finding OBL we would send in surgical strike teams, not the sledgehammer of the full military. This isn't about fighting for the rights of Afghan women, quite frankly this administration don't give a damn about the rights of women. This is simply another imperial war that we're going to be stuck in for a long while, hemmorhaging men and money for no return whatsoever.

Because we can't win this war. This is a guerrilla war, which is notoriously hard to win unless you simply go in and lay waste to the place. But we're not going to do that, we're going to keep this open sore running, and transferring more and more money out of our pockets to line the pockets of those in the MIC.

And yet Democrats are going to cheer this war on because hey, it's now a Democrat who is fighting it, and for many, Obama can do no wrong, even if they have to do a complete one-eighty on their moral compass. Sorry, but you can cheer without me. I refuse to support this madness anymore.

I suggest the Little Goons try drugs in order to escape the intrusion of actual reality.  This new world isn't what it was advertised to be.

Use to be all the Little Goons had to do was be simple-minded parrots while losing themselves - like Waldo - inside the phony Hate Bush noise.  Now they are actually having to carry some weight and stick their necks out in order to maintain a semblance of respect for what they have claimed to be true for so long now.  It must be exhausting, and as we all know, Little Goons don't DO exhausting - at least not with any grace.

DU collectively and the Little Goons individually have absolutely no talent for being Type One liberals.  They just plain out do not have the smarts for it.

Any passing approval I might express is more than outweighed by the fact that the strategic decisions are still ultimately being made by buffoons and ideologues with no knowledge or appreciation of what they are doing, and that the enemy clearly understands that all he has to do is hang on and survive for about three more years to see himself set up for a big win.
