Executive jet crashes outside Wiley Post Airport.. irony, anyone?

Naming an airport after someone who died in a plane crash, seems a bit...odd

The skumbag primitive, the magnanimous non-benefactor of the 2006 Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate from Connecticut, the skumbag primitive who devised that really stupid "support the troops" "ribbon":

22. Actually, at the time, Wiley Post (and other aviators) was (were) as famous...

It was a time when aviators were superstars....Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic in '27 and Earhart disappeared in '37....Post held several aviation records and his crash with Will Rogers in 1935 equalled in impact the "day the music died".

8. Looks like there's also a Will Rogers World Airport in OK.

Seem to recall they died in the same air crash, if my memory serves. I could google to know for sure, but yes, it is ironic indeed.

Any word about those on board? I know someone who flies executive aircraft around the country, and always get a bit concerned when I hear these things.

24. That's horrible ... probably a lot of young people striving to make a living

Now, when I started copying-and-pasting this to post it, I hadn't heard the whole bonfire yet; I was copying-and-pasting as I read it, with no idea what was to come.

I kept expecting, as I went down, to bump into a Paul Wellstone or Ron Brown comment, but I got all the way to the end, and alas, no Paul Wellstone or Ron Brown comment.

The primitives are really being non-productive these days.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

This reminds me of a video I saw the other day with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and singer Grace Slick attending a ceremony at Virgin Airlines.  The airline was christening one of its jets with the name Jefferson Airplane.  Grace got up and thanked them for the honor and said she understood why they chose Jefferson Airplane over The Grateful Dead.
