Saturday Somethings...what's up in your neck of the woods?
« on: October 10, 2009, 07:06:46 AM »
Cloudy day here., but it's supposed to be failry nice...high in the mid 60's anyway.
Woke up this morning with my equilibrium all screwed up...every time I turn my head, the room takes a while to "follow" and get into focus.

But, alas, life must go on!

Today is our 17th anniversary...we are planning on going to dinner tonight after football, but that depends a little on how everyone feels.

Championship football game is today...son is still iffy on playing...I'm planning on keeping him dosed on alternating tylenol and advil today, and hope that he feels up to playing at least a little bit.  He's at about 75-80%, but tylenol usually bumps that up to 85-90.   Odds for us winning are not great, but it's possible.

Before the game though, I'm helping with costume fittings for Nutcracker.

Happy anniversary and good luck with the game!

It's going to be on the rainy, but warm side here.  Still, we're going to Helen for some Oktoberfest fun.  Hopefully, the iffy weather will keep some of the crowd away since the little place is usually packed to the gills.

Football walk through this morning followed by brunch with some of the players and parents.  Then back to bed for a little while.  Then off to a parade for football.  Tomorrow is our last regular season game.  Right now we are ranked #2 in our division.

Gotta go lay out sweet feed and salt lick. Gonna watch the OU game later, lift at the gym and work on some equations for a project at school tonight.

Headed to a buddy's house for his birthday.  His wife bought him a REAL LIVE GALAGA ARCADE GAME!  And we don't have to use quarters to play it either! :hyper:

Work--is there anything else in life?  Found out that the paperwork I supposedly closed yesterday was reopened for the most flimsy of reasons, so I'm meggering current transformers right after a rainstorm passed through last night and this morning.  Yeah, that'll turn out well, standing in a puddle with a couple of 500 volt leads in my hands.

We were up to take daughter to her soccer game bright and early and the complex is closed today(the ground is saturated). UGH! So, that was a big waste of the morning and I missed my usual workout assuming the game was on. So, now we are doing chores, getting out the Halloweenie decorations and I'm planning to take the kids, who are now hopped up on hot chocolate and donuts, to a local park to take a LONG walk in the early afternoon.

We made an apple pie the other night and today I think we are having a big breakfast for dinner and making a couple varieties of cookies. Thus far, just baking here and there and keeping windows shut have kept us from turning on the heater. I aim to get through all of October before I flip that bad boy on:-)

Meh, we might cut some branches off the trees later too now that I think about it. Just plan to make it a full day of fall chores and fall fun:-)

Got an inch of it out here in Galt's Gulch.  Debating whether it's enough to go out in the balmy 20° weather to shovel it off the sidewalk.

Happy anniversary, Flame!

Arizona in October is gorgeous and today is no exception. High will be in the 80's. Overnight have been in the 60's. I LOVE being able to turn off the A/C and crack open the windows.

I'm going to start packing today and throwing out anything I don't want to take to the house. Tonight I'll probably go to church too.

One of the guys in the deer camp I belong to uses the "Biblical Method" of snow removal--God put it there, so God can take it away.  I recommend that in this case.

Happy Anniversary!  :cheersmate:

Today will be in the high 80's and there is an outdoor music fest close to my house. A friend of mine's son is playing with his high school jazz band at 11 AM & I plan to be there.

I just ate a plate of hashbrowns & over medium eggs, with toast. It was good. It was the first time I have ever used my stove since I lived here. Most of the cooking I do, I do over at my mom's house or I use my grill outside. Today was the exception.

I did get a few minor cleaning tasks knocked out, but have a few more to do yet. That can wait!

I hope everyone has a Blessed day!

Happy Anniversary Flame!

Here in Midland, Tx today the Commemorative Air Force annual Airsho is happening this weekend. My house is being buzzed by old war planes. I don't even have the tv or radio on at the moment so I can hear them flying overhead. I wish so bad I'd gotten out and gone today - may go out tomorrow as it's a 2 day show. They do an awesome re-enactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and other air battles including a Vietnam era helicopter rescue reenactment.

http://www.airsho.org/

The main reason I am not there is that I have my nose in the books. Two tests this next week, a project due and 2 other small assignments with a ton of reading. I'm trying to keep my eye on the light at the end of the tunnel....but right now I'm trying to remember what the heck was I thinking when I decided to go back to school.... :thatsright:

Just finished the barn roof.   :cheersmate:  Still have to install a gutter, but I can reach that easily...no more ladder climbing.  Maybe I will get to start on the walls next month.

Time to rest and find a football game to watch.  The Tennessee Vols finally won!!!!!!

Got up early and went to an Air show today at McEntyre, home of the SCANG  'Swampfox'.

High clouds and slight breeze.....my face is cooked.
