Michael Savage is not my favorite news and information source by a long shot but free speech IS among my favorite rights. (and should be one of yours too)

Great Britain is one of the great countries of the world but is tacking too far left and made a very ridiculous politically motivated blunder in banning Savage. Please consider signing the petition and reminding our old friends across the pond that freedom matters. Thanks CC!

PETITION FOR THE REMOVAL OF
BRITAIN'S BAN ON MICHAEL SAVAGE

To: Congress of the United States

Whereas, Michael Savage, with America's third largest radio talk-show audience, has been banned from Britain by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith;

Whereas, Smith listed Savage's name alongside Russian skinheads imprisoned for murdering 10 immigrants and a Hamas terrorist who executed two Jewish parents and bashed in the head of their 4-year-old daughter;

Whereas, contrary to the accusations of the former home secretary, Savage has never advocated violence and repeatedly has called for the lawful enforcement of America's borders, language and culture;

Whereas, freedom of speech must be protected to ensure the future of our democracy;

Whereas, Savage was honored with the Freedom of Speech Award by the radio industry in 2007;

Whereas, Savage's freedom has been denied, his health has suffered and his very life may be in danger because of the former home secretary's actions;

I believe that it's NOT up to us folks here in the US to force our wishes on another country. Were this being generated by the UK, then I would suggest that it would be a good thing. I didn't like it when the UK got involved in OUR politics and I don't believe that we should get involved in theirs.

I would like to know how his health has suffered because he isn't allowed in the UK?? Was he looking for FREE medical care ?? Could he not afford health care here?? I could see that his life may be in danger because of all of the wackos out there.

It's not a demand, Thor, it's a petition. It's a request. I see absolutely nothing wrong with submitting a petition, BUT CERTAINLY NOT THROUGH THE CONGRESS OF THE U.S..

That part is simply WRONG. Savage can and should form his own little grass roots effort and do it through normal channels. I don't have a problem with that. If he wants to go to the UK, he'll have to convince the anti-free-speechers there that letting him in the country is the right thing to do.
