Romney taunts Democrats with memories of Carter

Quote
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney reflects conservatives' growing confidence when he taunts Democrats, saying "I'll bet you never dreamed you'd look back at Jimmy Carter as the good old days."

Republicans at the Values Voter Summit Saturday talked of a growing political rebellion in the country, even as they acknowledged Democrats currently have the upper hand.

Romney recalled the euphoria among Democrats at the time President Barack Obama was elected.

"A year ago, there were quite a few people who were ready to write off this movement. They were enthralled by Barack Obama's promise of near-Biblical transformations," Romney said in comments prepared for Saturday's meeting. "Well, he can still spin a speech, but he can't spin his record." ...

Uh, Mitt?  Don't gloat too much, bud.  Looks like the Mass healthcare program you passed is going to shit quicker than you thought:

And before the usual suspects jump in and try to tell me, "Oh, but it's all Patrick's fault!", consider this--why weren't there policies in place that would have prevented or at least minimized the effects of liberal monkeying with the system once in place?

Next, consider that while not only the STATE (i.e., the people who pay taxes) are getting slammed, what about businesses?  How do they cope with the even LARGER share of ever-increasing costs?  Either 1--move out of state, or 2--pass the costs on to their customers, a lose-lose for the citizens of Massachusetts--at least the ones still left.

Aw, Sparky, you're just bein' a spoilsport.

Can't we just let Mitt posture and pander to those who are entranced by his glitz and glamour? I mean, after all, he's a RINO an' all and he's jus' gettin' warmed up for 2012....

When Romney came to Salt Lake City in late 1999 to "save" the Olympics from the "debacle" that is done all the time, everywhere, in awarding little gifts and perks and privileges to the high and mighty Olympic Committee, claiming that only HE and HE ALONE could make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, I laughed.

Romney did no such thing. While the MSM turned the issue of two men on the Salt Lake Olympic Committee doing what had been done before in countless ways into a goatrope, Romney seized the moment and assured everybody that he put things back under control.

Funny thing, that. They were never out of control.

But that's the thing about Mr. Slickster. He'll do his best to convince you that somethin's broke an' only he can fix it.

The only thing he can fix is his personal checking account--maybe.
