BATON ROUGE - Governor Bobby Jindal has issued an executive order cutting off current and future state funding to ACORN following a series of incidents captured on videotape and the subpoena of documents from the group’s national headquarters in New Orleans by the state attorney general's office.The executive order states that, “ACORN’s actions make clear that financial involvement with ACORN is contrary to the public policy of the State of Louisiana and the best interests of its citizens.â€The order prohibits all state agencies from entering into future contracts with ACORN or its subsidiaries and directs the agencies to cease all existing funding for ACORN or its subsidiaries unless such funding is already legally obligated. ... Earlier Thursday, the state attorney general's office subpoenaed the non-profit agency for a string of documents dating back to 1998.The subpoena was addressed to ACORN's founder and former director Wade Rathke and it demanded bank cards, bank statements and documents.
