Where do they get this shit?!?! (Personal encounter with a Salem, OR Teabagger)

I work at my FIL's store on Saturday's and some 50/60-something gentlemen came in to buy cigs. He happened to be wearing a 9/12 T-shirt and I had to try my best not to look at him like he's a raging moran.

He buys the cigs then walks out. Twenty seconds later, he walks back in and says,
"I shouldn't pick on you since you're young, but I need to talk to about Obama's health care bill. He's a liar. He said that illegals aren't covered but it says right there in section 234 that 'documented AND UNdocumented'. All these illegals 'round here are going to get free health care with yours and my money. This bill is going to cost $1 trillion. That's $30,000 just for your share."

"Wow, that a lot of money"

"Yeah, your grandkids will be paying it."

First of all, I can't find a "sec. 234" and the only use of the word "undocumented" appears in the following:

p. 143
"3 SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED
4 ALIENS.
5 Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments
6 for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are
7 not lawfully present in the United States."
http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_111/20090714/aahc...

I'll give the guy some credit for not telling himself that I'm a "pinko fag" or whatever based on my long hair or whatnot and avoiding interaction but unfortunately he thinks that fact-checking is for libruls.

1. He CAME BACK?

He left the store with his smokes, and HE CAME BACK just to tell you that precious little bit of disproven bullshit?

That's scary. That epitomizes a kind of fanaticism that not only persists in spreading lies, but feels so strongly about it that it moves its followers to go out of their way to try to indoctrinate a youngster. A long-haired youngster.

That's scary. If you see him again - ah, well, it's not your store, so you can't say anything - but I wish you could tell him that he's peddling lies and nonsense.

He's spreading bullshit.

2. I saw 'tea-baggers' in Spokane Washington give the 'Heil Hitler' salute today.

Sickening.

I always walk through our downtown park, and today I stumbled upon a small gathering of 'tea-baggers' I was stunned to see a group of about 15 people give the straight-armed 'nazi' salute in response to statements from the podium. These people are frightening.

Yeah, yeah.  That was what was really going on.  Sure, sure.

3. But the trillion $ for Cheney's adventure in Iraq was money well spent, right?

And the money for all those tax cuts for rich people, that was smart because just look at what that did for the economy.

4. Useless to try to reason with these people. The tragedy of liberal democracy is that these atavistic forces always drag the country backward, and there isn't much we can do about it.

10. "there isn't much we can do about it"

Great attitude.

They count on that.

5. I think he made it up on the spot

Usually, they can just get this mis-info from a zillion different sources - spam emails, rw-looney sites, aam-hate radio. But since even a google of "Section 234" doesn't seem to turn up anything, I suspect that, although he may think the provision is in there, he just made up the number so he would sound authoritative. It's a silly debater's bluff and blends with their belief that "Nobody has read the bill" (and therefor there's no risk of getting caught if you make something up).

And no, the idea that fact checking is necessary is unthinkable to tea-baggers. And even when facts get in the way - that just doesn't matter because "Facts have a well known liberal bias".

Sounds like it could have been Dick Armey. Was he drunk at the time?

7. Ask him how much the Iraq war is going to cost 'the grandkids'.

And Bush's deficit spending. And the tax cuts to the wealthy.

It just bugs me no end that these dittoheads are only concerned about spending money when it helps someone else. Spending money to kill people - eh, that's just fine with them.

8. Something about Salem, OR

It's the most republican for a town of its size, and it's probably the most hostile place in Oregon. People seem tightly wound, in general.

Worst bouncy I have read in months.  Maybe the worst one yet this year.  FAIL!

Gracious me!  Even to the Primitives it should be obvious as a fabrication.  The storyteller didn't even describe what he had on or what he had said that would have caused the older gentleman to know he was looking at/hearing a Bo supporter.

ZERO bong.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Can't they set their stories somewhere, anywhere, other than a checkout line?  It's like an impoverished community theater, they only have one set.

-100 bongs, and take away the baggie.

That he's a middle class white liberal wearing a "Che" shirt while mucking out the stalls had nothing to do with it.
