For example, for men, the five-year cancer survival rate in the United States was 66.3 percent; in England, it was 44.8 percent; for women, the five-year cancer survival rate in the United States was 62.9 percent; in England, it was 52.7 percent.
The Western Europeans, and in particular the British, are fond of pointing out the number of deaths in the United States due to firearms (roughly 31,000 per year). A rough statistical projection shows that if the United Kingdom had both our firearms and our health care, they could save in excess of 112,000 lives per year.
