The brutal bottom line on the "birthers" that nobody wants to say out loud
They won't stop until Obama is murdered.
The "birther" angle is just part of the larger "marxist, anti-american, usurper, tea party, take-our-country-back, 'wolverines!'" angle.
They cannot, will not, accept Barack Obama as their President.
They want him dead. They want to drum up enough Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt until some crazy Scott Roeder-like character comes along and does what they don't have the courage to do themselves.
They are creating the conditions, willfully, for the next Timothy McVeigh to emerge and act.
That is their intent. They're not even hiding it that well anymore. They're just waiting for the November-1963-Dallas moment to present itself to one of the crazies they've cultivated. And they'll have plausible deniability, since it will be a "lone wolf" acting on his own fear and paranoia with no direct traceability to the Limbaughs, Becks, and Liddys of the world.
Scott Roeder was created by Operation Rescue and their rhetoric.
Timothy McVeigh was created by the Arkansas Project and its rhetoric.
Some future assailant is being created right now by the Orly Taitz's of the world. We can laugh about it all we want... and their claims ARE laughable.
But their goal is a coup d'etat. By any means necessary. And it only takes one nut job to get past the Secret Service to make it happen. They're planting the seeds by creating THOUSANDS of nut jobs.

Southern guy who is a rabid Christian fundamentalist and was a huge Bush fan.
That makes me nervous.
And you know what I guarantee he will take a bullet for Obama if the need arises because odds are he will his duty no matter who he is protecting.

It's where this all leads. You can see it every day at various sites, someone calling for his assassination or at the very least, a coup. I'm not even talking about the most extreme supremacist sites, but common Birther sites.
For 8 years DU called for this to happen to Bush.

84. There is just no way that they could hate him more than Bush was hated.
The "leader" of the birther movement seems to want her fifteen minutes of fame. I think she should go away now, she's gotten way too much more than that.
But I think back to bush, and I think how much I hated him, and how so many more hated him more than even I did - parent's whose kids were killed in one of his wars, poor people that would have had nothing more to lose, foreigners who had to deal with racial profiling - there's a long, long list of people who hated bush, and with good reason.
The only thing I worry about is that Obama keeps himself much less in a bubble than bush did - he actually hangs out with the common people sometimes. I think the "birthers" like to spout their hate, but for the vast majority, that's all they want to do. As always, it would just take that one deranged person, but my money is on Obama. If bush survived two terms, Obama should easily do the same.
You are right because a majority of us dont hate Obama personally we hate what he is doing and what he stands for. Unlike you dump monkeys who hated Bush for the act of being alive.

119. There is a major qualitative difference between the hate for Bush and the hate for Obama
Bush was disliked and hated for hurting people. People suffered for real under him. He did things that hurt a lot of people and there was a cruelty behind his policies. What happened under his presidency was real, tangible and detrimental to millions. There were undeniable reasons for our feelings towards him and his associates.
Obama is disliked for who he is and what he is. He hasn't hurt anyone the way Bush has and yet the vitriol is as hyper as it ever was for Bush, it not more. There is no real sense to it, only fear based on beliefs. There is no reasoning with these people. In the face of cold, hard, undeniable facts they shut down and cling to their hatred. Such pride will come at a high cost to them personally and puts us all in danger because of their recklessness.
People will be hurting if Obama gets his way. Not to mention august of this year has been the deadliest in Afghanistan for our soldiers.
Where are your calls for impeachment now?
