Baby Cut From Murdered Massachusetts Mother's Womb Found in New Hampshire

 A baby cut from the womb of a woman found dead Monday in a Massachusetts apartment has been found alive in New Hampshire, police said Wednesday night.

Julie A. Corey, 35, who was arrested and charged as being a fugitive from justice, and a mal acquaintenance were found with the baby in Plymouth, N.H., the Worcester Telegram reported Wednesday.

The child appeared to be in good health and was being evaluated at a New Hampshire hospital, the newspaper reported.

Darlene Haynes, 23, was eight months pregnant when she was found mutilated and wrapped in a comforter Monday in a closet in her apartment. Her unborn daughter, whom family said she planned to name Sheila Marie, had been cut out and taken.

I believe that's the result of devaluing lives as a whole. We could make all sorts of jokes given the fact this woman was bearing her 4th child by age 23 by as many different fathers, but the reality was she was someone's child and a mother to 4 children and despite her faults was a human being. The person who cut her baby out of her womb made the same mistake the dummies did with unborn children and that's seeing her as nothing more then a piece of meat. I'm sure this young lady was a drain on social services, but many like her have gone on to whip themselves into shape and make something of themselves or to raise children who do exceptional things later on. I may not like the values I see her, but they are far more agreeable to me then the murdering of a life in order to harvest something of value from that person. May she rest in peace. I hope her family finds a way to bless her children so they live up to their potential and can honor their mother's memory. I just don't get the nutjobs who do things like this.

When you start telling people that values and morals don't matter and that they are the twisted ramblings of some bible thumping lunatics...when you tell people that there's no such thing as evil...no such thing as God and no absolute right and wrong only millions of shades of gray...you wind up with people willing to commit horrific acts such as this to take care of some personal selfish need they couldn't fulfill any other way.

Yep! I wrote to the justice dept, urging them to get involved! Mass is just too liberal with their court system to give the individuals, who would pull off this evil deed, what they deserve.

Agreed.  There was a case about a year ago of a man who kidnapped his 12-year old niece with the intent of "selling" her into a sex club but when she tried to resist, he raped and murdered her.  It all took place within VT (a no DP state), but because others were soliciting across state lines, the Feds got involved.  Guess what--dude is going to take the needle.  Either that or he won't last 10 seconds in general population.

Woman Suspected of Cutting Baby From Massachusetts Mom's Womb Held on $2M Bail

 A woman suspected of carving a nearly full-term baby girl from her friend's womb and passing the newborn off as her own was being held on $2 million bail Thursday.

Julie Corey, 35, has been charged as a fugitive from justice. She appeared in district court in New Hampshire via video from the county jail, a day after she was arrested at a homeless shelter in the state, allegedly with the live infant.

The baby is said to be "in fairly good health," police said. The infant's mother, 23-year-old Darlene Haynes, was about 8 months pregnant when she was killed.

Corey did not waive extradition to be brought back to Massachusetts. The judge scheduled a hearing for Aug. 30.

She said little during the hearing, at which Judge Gerald Boyle ordered all police affidavits in the case sealed.

Corey and male friend Alex Dion, 27, were arrested Wednesday after they were found with the child in the Plymouth, N.H., shelter, according to police in Worcester, Mass.

But Dion put her questions aside when her granddaughter was born last week and her son couldn't stop smiling. The family even held a cookout to welcome the child, whom he and his girlfriend planned to name Alida Nevaeh.

Now, the baby is in state custody and Julie Corey — Alex Dion's on-and-off girlfriend of two years — is in jail on $2 million bail and has been charged with being a fugitive from justice. She also faces an accusation that she kidnapped an infant who was cut out of her mother's womb. The mother, Darlene Haynes, a friend of Corey's, was found dead Monday in Worcester. Police have not yet charged anyone in her death.

Cindy Dion said Friday it's devastating that she got a chance to hold and love the baby when Haynes never did. She struggles to speak when she considers she might never see the baby she thought was her granddaughter again.

Perhaps she had a miscarriage and hatched an insane scheme to pass off someone else's baby as her own and this is the result.

I doubt she was ever pregnant. Most of these women are incapable of conceiving if past crimes like this are any indication.
