Members of a prominent Chicago-based sorority are suing to oust their national president -- former Chicago Housing Authority comptroller Barbara McKinzie -- saying she misappropriated funds and commissioned a $900,000 wax figure of herself.

She also is accused of taking nearly $400,000 for personal expenses and arranging for a $4,000 monthly stipend to be paid to herself after she leaves office.

Who would have imagined that there would have been corruption in Chicago?   :whatever:

Well look at this
Quote
McKinzie Attends President Obama's Signing of Order that Creates Economic Advisory Board
Urges support of permanent solutions to crisis
As a powerful signal that Alpha Kappa Alpha's message of economic empowerment has reached the upper corridors of power, the Sorority's international president, Barbara A. McKinzie, was a witness when President Barack Obama signed the Executive Order for the Economic Advisory Board. The signing took place on Friday, February 6 at 10AM EST in the White House. ...

$900,000??? That's a lot of wax!  Even BHO can't hold a candle to that kind of spending on himself....yet.   :-)

The wax statue isn't lifelike, it's missing a chin. The real one has at least 2 visible.

Which one is the lady? I just see two dummies.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Now, why $800,000 for a statue?

Man, that's some ego there.

There's way too many people who think too highly of themselves.

I recall that one time during the administration of the first George Bush that the newly-appointed postmaster of Atlanta (a Democrat, by the way) held a big "inaugural" that cost more than a million bucks.

A postmaster.

What next?  Coronations of acting assistant associate directors of state agencies?

They probably do that in California and Massachusetts, but I hope it doesn't spread.

Now, Now, Frank, there is not one person that I know who on being elected town dog catcher that was told they had $3,000. bucks for them to use in a town parade for the 4 of July would not consider just march on foot, but would actively search out a cheap flat bed, get the SPCA involved perhaps Girl and Boy scouts to turn the bed into a float and ride on it with the animals waiting for adoption.

Cost for truck and flat bed for 3 hours $400.00

Cost for decorative items $500.00

Labor free, kids and SPCA do all the work and design.

Cost for refreshments, sodas and hot dogs, due to donations from stores and volunteers,
$150.00.

Now one is ready to ride the float, let the town know [Who you are ]   One has become a figure of importance for the first time in their lives.

There is almost $2000 left over that one can be charge to the town for personal expenses.

This is just one example of how human nature works, can you imagine how those in State Politics are going to act ???
