Snuggle Bunnies, Nation Wide
« on: July 19, 2009, 08:23:01 PM »
I'm currently in Millington TN attending Phase II of my 68W MOSQ until July 27

I'll be in Grand Prairie, TX (yee-e-e-e-HAW!) Aug 1 - 16 for Phase III.

BTW - to you squid-types: y'all need to hang your heads low in shame. I'm on a navy facility and the "Helmsman's Club" here is a gawd-damned disgrace. The food here is wretched, the dishes are dirty and the DFAC is roach-infested. They've given us soured OJ and milk more than once and no amount of bitching from us or the previous classes have rectified the matter. It's damn near IG-worthy.

68W is the army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS...Q being Qualification) for Heathcare Specialist aka combat medic. I have to re-take the course because I dislocated my shoulder and had an avulsed (sheering) fracture of the greater tuberosity (ball) of the humerus (long bone of the upper arm).

Comprende, mi amigo?

Okay, thanks for the translation.  I was wondering how that had turned out for you.  Good luck with the course... you did it once, it should be a breeze this time.

:)

Actually, I kinda feel bad being here. I was a medic from 87 - 90 and earned my Exert Field Medic's Badge (only about 5% to 7% earn it) so this is essentially the 3rd time I had to take the course coupled with 3+ years of working in the MOS. I had to re-take the course b/c I had a 16 year break in service. So, yes, I'm having an easy time. Too easy. I don't study but I have the highest GPA in class which is leaving this one poor kid who is studying his ass off to take distinguished honor grad a little behind. I don't think it's fair to him and will decline it if I win it...although I will take honor grad b/c my LT wants we to go to the NCO prep course when I get back home. It'll bolster her argument if I come back with an award.

It could be worse.  I'm interviewing for a network engineer position at work, and I haven't touched a router in three years.  I'll be damned if I can remember any of it because I haven't used it since 2004.  I used to be able to sit down and piece together a functional network in about fifteen minutes, half an hour.  Now I'm having to re-read all my Cisco stuff to prepare for this interview.

It beats working on the phones.

I seriously doubt you'll encounter too much trouble.
