Wouldn't surprise me in the least.  :thatsright:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

DUmmies, try to get this, OK? Just try. I know it's hard, when all your information has to be filtered through 0moron's rectum before it gets to you:

If he says people can keep their "shitty" plans after all, ACA is effectively dead. This is because the plans you turn your noses up at were JUST FINE for the people who had them because they were, by and large, HEALTHY. They don't need 0dumbasscare. Letting them opt out of the exchanges means the denominator (healthy folks) can't get big enough to sop up the numerator (habitually sick turds like yourselves), and the losses will spiral out of control.

Deal with it. ACA is closer to being dead thanks to the lies told by your Lord and Savior.

No doubt. This is their new talking points and marching orders.

Until he has to come back on TV in a few days/weeks and give them their new talking points and marching orders.

Also rest assured that this speech now nullifies the commitment that the website would be working by month-end, as sworn by Horse Face Sebelius.

Watch carefully now as the lib messiah tries to resurrect the dead.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I wish. There is no way my policy reinstated. NO WAY.

This just makes it appear that King Barky the Incompetent is doing something. There is not a path to do that in less than 7 weeks. It is against the law to issue a new and it is new because it was no longer available in less than three months. When the insurance companies tell the 10 million people that want their old policies back that they can't do that. It will be the mean old insurance companies that are sticking it to the proles. Basically what King Barky the Liar did today was say that 1+1=POTATO as the insurance companies will be violating HIPA laws and hundreds of state regulations on insurance.

What Obama did today, was LIE AGAIN.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The President's speech was anything but a surrender.
President Obama did about as much as he could to explain that the blame for canceled insurance policies rightly belongs on greedy, deceptive insurance companies who dupe many people into paying for policies which are nearly worthless when medical bills start to arrive. Most importantly, he offered a fix for the problem which clearly puts the onus on those companies, ordering them to contact their canceled policy holders and explain to them why their former policy is considered deficient by the government. The President allowed that companies can also continue to offer their rip-off plans in 2014 for those who still want them, but only after those policy holders are informed of the flaws in the coverage they will be paying for.

This is all to the good, and in no way a "Surrender" to anyone.

OK - While The President Is Still Speaking - What Are The Repugs Going To Say Now?.....

How will they continue to undermine this? You know that they are just waiting to pounce on the President as soon as he finishes speaking.

I applaud the ACA "fix"

Last edited Thu Nov 14, 2013, 12:41 PM - Edit history (2)

I do not applaud it because it is Obama. I favored this general approach before it was cool... back when it made me a Cylon troll.

I posted at length a while back about the need for mandated government information inserts for cancellation letters, and an even longer post about how a one-year delay in *government mandating* cancellation of non-compliant plans would make the roll-out better. Let insurers take the PR hit if they want to cancel these plans.

The reason Obama is doing this is because it is, in the big picture, less damaging to Obamcare than the alternatives.

Obamacare is fighting for survival, and survival is the key consideration.

Putting the full onus for canceling plans on insurers (and states —a lot of this is state level stuff for states with their own exchanges) for one more year is correct. Such cancellations should not be required by the government until the mechanism for moving to different plans is flawless.

And insurers are blaming voluntary moves on the ACA. This should take that away. Insurers want to cancel a lot of these non-compliant plans and there is no reason for the government to take the fall for what insurers want to do anyway.

Also, mandating that insurers provide ACA information when sending a cancellation letter is a no-brainer. That is very valuable.

I agree with what he is doing as the best thing, given the totality of circumstances in the real world today, for the survival and eventual entrenchment of Obamcare.

So yea Obama.

Only problem with this, DUmmies, is that while 0moron may be YOUR King, he's not THE King or even A King, so he can't just say this is going to happen
because of "permission." No less than Howard Dean has publicly wondered whether what has been suggested is even legal.

Because you see, as you have so often reminded us, ACA is settled law. It can't be changed on a whim. It WAS you who told us that, yes?

Bingo.

I think it would be great if the repukes go along with the muslim's decree in this case.

It will result in the same millions of people getting cancellation notices in the weeks before the 2014 election, and the uproar will reach a crescendo on Election Day.

He may find more democrat opposition to this delay decree than he expects. They're on the ballot next November, and the Kenyan is not.

This is the DUmbest political move ever. Democrat politicians will soon be in panic mode.

GOBUCKS, I agree with you.  I don't understand his one-year deal.  Those letters go out again in October, 2014.  If he's even able to do it.  Like Jukin said, all the tremendous amounts of regulation are in place at the state level, you just can't wave a magic wand and make it happen.
Does the whole hot mess end up back in court?

The muslim may be quietly telling democrat allies to let this go through and in a few months people will forget.

In the interim, if he can get amnesty and voting rights for tens of millions of illegal mexicans, they won't have to worry about a bunch of pissed-off honkies next fall.

Settled law. That was the verbal extortion the libs tried to use to silence conservative dissent. Anyone remember when Hitlery screamed that dissent was the highest form of patriotism ?

The National Association of State Insurance Commissioners released a statement saying that it basically ain't going to happen.  This takes some of the heat off the insurance companies and drops it back on the "o".

Meanwhile the DUmmies are braying that the insurance companies are to blame for canceling the policies in the first place. Well, if that's true, then why did Lord 0chucklenuts go on TV and give his holy permission for insurance companies to sell the policies again?

Fact is, the companies cut a deal to ditch policies in favor of serving the exchanges, and 0'monkeyloaf is trying to undo it all with a wave of his putter. Sorry, dude, doesn't work that way. This is your shit sandwich and you can't replace the shit with sausage when it's your turn to take a bite.
