I just got to send a nice girl away - she was a community organizer looking to get signatures for clean water, clean air, anti plastics, anti toxins, and global warming contributions.
She was pleasant, college age, attractive and stoned out of her mind. ( I could hear the gravel in her voice -- a dead giveaway ) If my 10 year old wasn't right there I may have tried to get her DU name, instead I said "I only agree with about 30% of what this petition is for, so I'm going to have to decline" - I thanked her for stopping by and she went off happy.
The 30% was an overstatement. What I wanted to say is "how can you want signatures for Global Warming when right here we have had hardly any days that have gone above 80 degrees this year ? And water conservation ? Its done nothing but rain all June, and its looking like its going to rain for most of the rest of the summer months." But, she was pleasant, so I couldn't help but to extend the courtesy.
