if you were to replace 5 Democratic Senators

this includes the 2 "independent Democrats" Joe Lieberman and Bernie Sanders (you need to be banned from DU if you wanted the latter replaced) with hardcore progressives, who would you replace.

my answers

Mary Landrieu
Ben Nelson
Max Baucus
Evan Bayh
Joe Lieberman

1. I don't think Lieberman is a Democrat so I'd replace him with Feinstein.

4. Bill Nelson ahead of Feinstein

Bill or Blanche "I always rely on the kindness of traitors" Lincoln.

Afterall she's the one who gave LIEberman the kiss when he returned

12. The problem is, with those folks, we only *think* we have a majority . . .

When in fact it's about 45 Dems, 45 Wacks, and 10 spineless opportunists. No wonder the "minority" gets to *****whip the "majority."

It's also why when the official numbers were the other way around (51 R 49 D, give or take) it was actually 51 to 10 to 39, and in that configuration the majority *****whipped the minority. Until we ease the DINOs out in favor of at least left-of-center pols, true progressivism is doomed.

14. Both Nelsons

Feinstein
Bayh

And since Lieberman doesn't count- I guess Specter does. So him.

15. That list works for me. As an independent liberal, I'd have no problem voting left of them.

17. Joe is no Democrat and should not be listed accordingly. Here, I'd suggest replacing Joe Lieberman with Dianne Feinstein. That woman has been a medicore Senator, a terrible mayor, an awful supervisor.

I dunno.

franksolich's wish list is Vast Teddy and the Bostonian Billionaire from Massachusetts, Jr. from Vermont, Babs Boxer from California, and Patty Murray from Washington.

Dick Durbin and Tom Harkin would be near the top of my list to be tossed out.

Mine too, but they didn't quite cut the top five.  Maybe the top seven or eight.

"Bernie Sanders (you need to be banned from DU if you wanted the latter replaced)"
Wow!  The only avowed Socialist and you get banned from DU?  That says a lot.
Nelson is the Dem Senator from here(Florida) and he sucks.  Votes opposite of what he should
on ALL the important stuff.  And THEY want HIM out?  Boy!  We're WAY futher apart then
I imagined.
