well the divorce is done. Spent over 9k to get 50% custody and no child support. Oh and I let her have everything except half the equity in the house.Cost me 9k because she demanded 100% custody and child support even though she was the one who had the affair. I found out and confronted her to which she freaked out and demanded a divorce. I moved out for over a month begging her to go to a marriage counselor and she refused. I served her with a petition for divorce and thats when she went off the deep end and started to fight me over the kid. She even went to the extent of lying and saying I hit her and crap..... I held my ground and demanded 50% custody of Tyler and no child support and she finally settled out of court 1 week from the trial date. Oh and in the middle of all of this I had a pretty bad car wreck. Had to have shoulder surgery to fix a problem from that. Gained a shit ton of weight. Lost my job and have been out of work for almost 4 months. But other then that I still have my boy in my life and thats all that counts.Lost over 3/4ths the weight already.
Did you prove the adultery in court? Seems like that would have made a big difference with the judge. On the other hand, courts like to give custody to the mom.Sorry about your problems, though. Glad you are back.
No the courts couldnt give two shits about adultery when dealing with custody. Its whats best for the child is all they care about.
You'd think that breaking marriage vows would have some weight in deciding which parent is "best for the child," wouldn't you? Adultery is now so common that judges don't even see it as a negative mark on a mother's character.
