Oh Shit--- The Douche is back....

I'm a douche, I'm a Douche
Oh the Douche is back
Stone cold sober as a matter of fact
I can douche, I can Douche
`Cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move
The things that I do

1. If you assigned each "fan" in "attendance" at a Marlin game to pick out one word of what you just typed to sing, you'd have to go out onto the streets to find enough people to finish the whole thing.

You must be excited Oakland has overtaken Miami as having the worst baseball fans in the majors.

2. Wow! That was quick! A week of storing up attendance comments??

Sad!

Must have drove your Mom nuts.

Whoa.  The cboy4 primitive was suspended?  I thought he was just on vacation.

4. As I've told you countless times, "mom" jokes are arguably the most lazy form of insult smack talk known to modern day society.

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS CROWD!!11!

5. That's terrible

all of South Florida ought to be ashamed. The only reason the Marlins aren't still in last place attendance wise is because they drew big over the weekend with the Yankees in town.

In case one doesn't know, the Upton Sinclair primitive is associated or affiliated with the cboy4 primitive in some manner.

6. Yea, but we should cut them some slack .. look at all of the umbrellas in the photo .. the weather looked horrible.

And yea, you're right about NYY. It'll take them at least three series to equal what they drew in three games against the Yankees.

The forked primitive, who has the gall, the nerve, the chutzpah, the unbridled arrogance, to think he knows as much about sports as a single strand of hair on the cboy4 primitive's head:

7. And using attendence as an argument is only one notch above Mom jokes.

It really is about as weak a sports argument as one can make.

8. The reason I use Miami attendance so often, is because trumad likes to rub it in that the Marlins are so much better than the Giants because they have two rings since 1997.

And my point is they're not a good organization, only puting together good teams to win and then dismantling them the following year.

And then you have these fake Marlins fans who only show up when the Yankees come to town, or when the Marlins are in the playoffs.

It all plays into a solid argument in defending what the Giants are doing .. drawing 3-million a year since 2000.

9. And my point is, drawing 3 million means nothing.

The only thing that matters in ON the field. That is the ONLY way to judge a team's success. Trumad is RIGHT. The Marlins have two ring in 12 years, the Giants none in 55. The ARE the better franchise in recent history.

Just because the Giants draw more people doesn't, and can't, change that. It's a truly sophomoric argument to make. Until you and Upton came along I had never seen anyone try to argue this point of view, and I used to moderate a sports forum filled with Repubs even.

It's honestly one of the weakest positions I've ever seen anyone take in all my years of being into sports.

Moderating a sports forum makes one an expert in sports?

For the record, franksolich once moderated "College Football Chat" on America On-Line--was in fact one of the most popular moderators there--but I don't think anybody was deceived into thinking franksolich knew anything about college football.

10. Not to mention Marlin fans don't deserve two championships.

Like it or not, attendance is associated with the overall judgment of a team's success.

Otherwise, why would there be an entire wire story about how the Red Sox have sold out the past five years?

It's not one of the weakest positions. You're completely exaggerating.

11. A team's success is measured by Championships.

Attendance is merely a by-product for people with nothing left to argue about.

It ranks down with who has the best team mascot and best cheerleaders.

14. It's really pathetic that a "so-called" sports fan would question the integrity of other fans. Making an argument that one team has better fans than other is at best childish, but has become typical of you and your personal attacks.

13. No, it is weak.

I don't even think the Sox sellout streak is a big deal at all. Fenway holds just over 34K. They damn well better be able to fill it. Check attendance for other teams, and I bet even some bad teams draw close to that, so even they would be close to selling out Fenway. It's a fun stat that makes homers feel good about themselves, but I'm not overly impressed. A team in a bigger stadium that holds 50-60K selling out 500 straight? That would be impressive, though still pointless.

You can say the fans in Florida don't deserve those rings, but the fans aren't the team. The team sure as Hell does deserve it. And like it or not, the Giants simply can't say that. Even if your fans are better (and I do give them credit) it just means nothing in the end. Until the team earns it who cares how loyal you guys are? It was the exact same way here in Boston for 8,000 years until they finally won it. They sold out most of the games here over the years, but until they won a championship we had zippo to brag about. Attendance sure didn't enter into it. You think we went up to Yankees fans and said, "Hey, we know you've won enough rings to break your hand, but how about our attendance, huh?" They would have laughed in our faces even more than they already were.

You conflate how the fans are with the team itself. If you want to just argue which city has the better baseball FANS, then using attendance is totally valid to me (and I give that area to San Fran, pretty easily). If you want to argue which is the better TEAM though, it's silly.

And, on a totally different topic, I was reading about the L.A. Kings the other day and some of the things they want to do in the draft and with trades, and if they put together a solid team you guys are going to have a killer California rivalry going. The Ducks aren't going to slack off all year like they did last year, the Sharks have too much talent and too good of a coach to suck, and if the Kings play well it'll be some damn good hockey out there.

15. The attendance argument is one nobody really cares about

The fact that some lameasses think it's just as important or more important than success on the field is freakin absurd. Who tunes into a game to watch the stands? Who goes to games to watch the stands?

It's a dumb argument all around mainly levied by those that don't have much to talk about on their side of things on the ice or the field.

18. I will agree that it can become a big happy hour scene, with a disturbing number of people .. particularly on the Club Level .. not paying attention.

One time, I watched a game with my friend, um, Barry, on the Club, and people were actually watching other games on the plasmas while they got drunk.

But you know what?

They show up, and even the lamest of them eventually get into the game .. even if it's not until the 7th inning.

21. You are so full of shit!

So instead of paying for transportation to work, you blow your wad of cash on baseball tickets.

That is the definition of a LOSER!

The rabid terrapin primitive seems to have a, uh, severe psychological problem.

I'm not sure if it's the ordinary run-of-the-mill severe psychological problem that afflicts most of the primitives, or if there's something distinctive about it, making the rabid terrapin primitive different from other primitives.

27. Lets take a look here

MLB average attendance per game through 6-22

28. Florida-18,766......pathetic

And that's after a big weekend with the Yankees in town for which the Marlins drew 30,000+ 3 consecutive games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....if South Florida isn't going to support a MLB franchise, they don't deserve one.

31. It's probably the dumbest sports argument I've ever heard.

It takes a truly immature and insecure little boy to even try making it.

I wonder who he thinks the argument is reaching here? The only one buying it is a fellow fan of the same mediocre team.

30. And I've said before that you're an idiot for making such a pathetic argument.

Why do you even trot it out over and over? You must realize that NO ONE takes you seriously when you make it (though to be fair, I never take you seriously). And why do you even care about other team's attendance? Are you THAT ****ing insecure in your team?

Nevermind, every single member of the forum already knows the answer to that. Must suck having a team that does so little to root for that all you can talk about is a handful of teams that don't draw well. That you can't see how laughable/pitiful it is makes it even more laughable/pitiful.

He wouldn't know from one day to the next whether to pull for the Kings or the Sharks or the Ducks.

Because as we know, he's the only person in California who cheers for both SoCal and NorCal hockey teams.

I need a scorecard to keep track!

20. I do realize that when people find out you might show up to a social gathering, it looks like a goddam construction site as guests and even perfect strangers frantically scramble to encircle the location with razor wire and high intensity security lights .. right after digging a crocodile-packed moat with their bare hands ... all in order to keep such a grumpy, stick in the mud far, far away from the fun.

No offense of course.

It still blows me away, that Skins suspended the cboy4 primitive for a few days.

Of all the primitives on Skins's island, there's circa 4,999 of them I'd suspend first.

I wonder what was up with that; I couldn't find anything.

I must admit as a sports fan I can't remember having any in-depth discussions, or even caring that much, about the attendance.  Must be a primitive thing.

I used to think of the cboy4 primitive as just another half-wit, and it didn't help that the cboy4 primitive is into this gaiety thing.

But somewhere along the line, I learned that the cboy4 primitive, unlike most other primitives, actually has a job and pays his own way.

So my estimation of the cboy4 primitive edged up a little bit.

But then during the Democrat primaries, my estimation skyrocketed.

While other primitives supporting the worthier Democrat candidate for the presidential nomination were chased, hounded, shoved, off Skins's island by the Hate and rage and anger of the 0bamaite primitives, the cboy4 primitive stood his ground, like Custer.

Excepting unlike Custer, the cboy4 primitive actually survived, despite all the overwhelming odds against it.

I must point out that the cboy4 primitive was savaged a great deal more by the 0bamaite primitives, than other primitives supporting the worthier candidate for the Democrat nomination, especially by the spoiled rich kid the grazing primitive, the "jgraz" primitive, a sadist who made Reinhard Heydrich look like Mother Theresa.

It was pretty ugly and bloody, but the cboy4 primitive proved himself sturdier than the primitives who ganged up on him, trying to rip him to shreds.
